I took this pictures last Saturday when the sun was shining brightly. While fetching water from the backyard well, my eyes were drawn to the bright red spots on the ground. I already knew they were mushrooms, looking like tiny dots from a distance.

I've never found this type of mushroom growing anywhere else around my house except here. They thrive under a tree with some lush green moss decorating the area. I often see these little red mushrooms growing in the exact same spot, on top of the green moss when the weather is humid, during hot sunny days, but rainy from late afternoon until evening.

I had never seen these mushrooms fully bloom until last Saturday when I found one with its cap fully opened.

Usually, these mushrooms don't last long in the soil because of their fragile stems and shapes. Often, I find these mushrooms crushed and dead in the surrounding area before their caps fully open. The main suspects for crushing these mushrooms are my chickens, who forage in that area.

Despite their small size, these mushrooms stand out remarkably well, almost glowing amidst the surrounding colors, their fiery red appearance is striking.
