My very real but fictional journeys - Living on the edge - A warm heart in the middle of a cold winter.

Once when I was crossing Mount Twins heading from the Carpathian village of Yasenya towards the pass behind which the city of Rakhiv was located I thought that the tests would never stop that the wet shoes in which my feet literally swam like fish in an aquarium never they won’t feel warmth at some moments wild fatigue rolled in I wanted to fall on my back and scream.

But I had to pull myself together and move on carrying a heavy backpack which was wet like my boots and all its contents it poured cold rain without stopping.

When I got to the source of the Black Tisza River I saw a small house, and a hope arose in me that I could ask the owner of the house for the opportunity to warm up and dry off.

But the old owner of the house going out into the street shouted something in Hungarian and pointed with his finger towards the valley where the river descended which in this place was only a stream deep in the finger of the hand.

Hope for heating was gone and I went farther and descending into the valley I set up a tent.

Having kindled a fire I boiled the water that I collected in the river and brewed tea.

Sitting shivering in the tent I thought about a cozy house about a fireplace in which wood crackles about comfort and no matter what the weather is outside it's good to be in your own house.

Some time ago I decided to try to draw a log house in the middle of a snowy winter.

This job was no easier than making a hike through the mountains though It may seem that here in the figure there is nothing complicated.

Perhaps if you drew it it would be so it would be easy for you to depict it but for me it was a process in which cold ice and hot steel met.

Realizing that an easy walk was not expected I imagined how each log and each element of the house would look like.

I wanted the picture to be as realistic as possible to the best of my ability to draw.

The most difficult thing was that there are a lot of lines of perspective for those artists who use measuring instruments and rulers in their work it will not be difficult it is enough to build projections but when the focus points are chosen by eye measurement errors may appear and I did not take any measurements.

The shape of the logs hid from me the direction lines of the perspective just as a mountain does not allow you to see the distance to your destination which is on the opposite side of the mountain.

Then when the work was finished I saw my mistakes but I did not pay attention to this.

In the process of work I felt myself in a cozy house warm, with a cup of hot tea sitting in front of a burning fireplace with my family and it didn’t matter to me how cold the winter was outside I felt very comfortable.
