When I think about the things I'd like to push to the background, these are the things that come into view like trash, like a grain of sand in the eye, and force us to focus our attention on them. They're useless, but they waste our precious time.
But often, we can't immediately grasp the futility of what seems important to us.
Time must pass before a clear opinion is formed, when the chaff falls away and the grain appears on the surface, either useful or rotten, destined for the trash.
