Chasing falls and views

I've finally gathered enough energy to write again! Ha! sunday was a blast for me and it was basically a no gadget week too. One reason being, there was absolutely no signal where we were so all the phone was good for was for taking pictures (not entirely gadget free, but hey, I like collecting memories UwU)

Last Sunday, my sisters, my cousins and myself all finally fulfilled a long time wish to all go hiking and waterfall chasing together. This wish temmed from when we hiked out to see Sierra madre falls and expected to see a huge falls that you could bathe in because that was the pictures we saw in books. To our disappointment, we didn't see a huge falls, but a little spring. It just looked like a little spring and that was enough for us to do our research on the other falls near the metro.

We agreed on starting close since we're all working and we have 2 students with us too.

It was a long 2.5 hours drive to Tanay, Rizal, though it didn't feel like it since me and my cousins really had a lot of catching up to do. The war between parents isn't something good to grow up to so we're pretty happy we can go on trips without adult supervision now. A parentless trip is always a huge load off our shoulders, swear. we got to talk about stuff we would never normally even talk about, heck- it was cool that we all still got along despite how much our parents tried to separate us from each other.

I'll save the personal matters for myself. Anyways, Our first destination in Tanay was Dinarak falls. It's one of the larger and more populated falls in the area.

This was the entrance to Dinarak falls

I couldn't help myself, the green was so pretty UwU

This was te small bridge we had to cross to get to the falls

Left side of the bridge

right side of the bridge

when we got to the common area, kind of like a campsite, we set up our tents near the river (yes, we brought tents with us)

This was my sister's photos XD when we were exploring the river after setting up camp

I have no idea what I was doing here, but I think I was gonna follow the river XD

This is what I saw when I followed the river XD

People were everywhere even at 8am

the crowd wasn't something we wanted to squeeze into so we asked some people and guides if there were other falls. We got directed to Batlag falls, though we had to pay a bit of a fee ;;w;; ($2 or 10 php per person). And the catch is, you hike up a small trail to get there.

I wouldn't complain though, the trail was and adventure plus I saw a shampoo plant!

I even dared my cousins to use it when we're heading back to the camping grounds to rinse off. I got no complaints for the dare, just compliments because the plant extract made their hair softer UwU this is what I call perks of being a chemist UwU

These are the falls in Batlag, and I gotta say, the water there seemed a bit cleaner than the water in dinarak XD

I also found swimming dogs and we instantly regretted not bringing the dogs along. All of us actually have dogs since we grew up with a dog loving grandfather UwU

I have no idea how long these dogs swam with us and the owners didn't even seem to mind since they said their dogs loved attention and they're happy seeing kids not scared of their dogs.

we ate lunch there, started a bonfire and maybe dozed off on the campsite near batlag falls. It was pretty chill but by 3, everyone was looking for coffee and that turned into a hunt for the cafe in the sky somewhere in Angono, Rizal.

This was our final destination adn we waited out until sunset before going home UwU
It was definitely tiring, but it;s one of those days I'd definitely look back to because of the rare times me and my cousins ever get to bond.

This is all from me tonight~~ I'm gonna try to catch up to inktober tomorrow

I've been here! Such a beautiful place but yeah it kind of gets crowded even on a weekday. Atleast you got to have great company - your cousins!

I really want to experience something like this someday in the future. Although we did have something similar to this at a place I was staying but I never went in because the water is always so cold 🤒.
