Paralepista flaccida

I found a group of small mushrooms with light brown to orange caps, growing between layers of dry leaves and fallen pine tree branches. After I investigated further and compared the characteristics, I was sure that this was the Paralepista flaccida fungus.

This mushroom has a rather flat cap with a diameter of about 4–7 cm. The surface of the hood is smooth and the color appears slightly darker in the center. The lamellae are dense and yellowish cream in color. The stem is slender, straight, and the same color as the cap, but slightly paler below.

I found these fungi growing in clusters in soil rich in leaf litter, indicating that they live as saprophytes — breaking down dead organic matter on the forest floor. The discovery location is in a slightly shady and damp place, ideal conditions for fungal growth.

I didn't pick the mushrooms, just observed them and took several photos with a macro lens so I could see more clearly the details of the lamella and the surface of the cap. Interestingly, this fungus is often confused with other species of the Clitocybe genus, due to its similar shape and habitat.

NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
