Chasing flamingos

A couple of days ago I was going through my photos from Kyiv Zoo for the funny bird contest. There was this series of flamingos among them. They are not so funny themselves, but photographing them was quite comical. I haven't picked up a camera in a long time. It was my first time since the beginning of the war. The illusion of a peaceful life.

I lost my knack obviously.😊 There were many birds, but all of them were at a considerable distance for my lens, and I could not catch them either in the frame or in focus.

After all, I ended up with some leg/neck shots...

... and a couple of head shots. Ah, they are so elegant on their long legs. And the color of their feathers is gorgeous. Same cannot be said about their beak. Nature created it not beautiful, but functional. The one cannot get all, year?

I have no idea what they are searching for on the bare ground. They have a small pond for bathing. Not only for them, because ducks are everywhere here.🙂
