What Thoughts Dye Your Soul?

IMG-20230712-WA0032.jpg

Such as are your habitual thoughts, such also will be the character of your mind; for the soul is dyed by the thoughts~~Marcus Aurelius.

After seeing the quote last night, my mind, though tired, was ready to write but my body didn't even care...Haha, I ended up dozing off. And this brings us to our thoughts.

As humans, from my perspective, whatever we feed our mind ends up being accumulated by the body and seeps right into our soul. Words are powerful whether when spoken or thought. They affect our actions in life.

Biologically speaking from what I have observed in humans, our body excretes the emotion we give to it. If our thought is a sad one, it ends up affecting our daily activities, and if we allow these thoughts to be habitual, it molds our characters and our spirit walks with them by transforming them into our daily lives.

There is a colleague of mine whose face always looks angry and I am asked if she smiles at all. But no one believes she does even when I know I have seen her smiles.

This is why we need to be careful about what becomes habitual in our life, especially when it has to deal with our thoughts. Think of something beautiful. Just like I do whenever I am not feeling good. I have made it a habit to be cheerful when things don't go my way and find something else worth doing. Since I have made it habitual, I always end up seeing things the other way around and this has molded my character and dyed my soul into taking it into action.

The picture used above tallies the quote. The folded hand serves as our thoughts and the other hand serves as the receiver(Our soul). However the hand decides to fold itself, such will the soul bends to its will. It is like a dye used daily on a cloth. The more it is used(habitual), the more the cloth(soul) absorbs it(gets dyed), and it gives out the physical appearance expected(character).

This is why most of our childhood characters stick with us because they grew up with us and have become a habit. They molded our characters and then we acted.

Growing up, I have this habit that has stuck with me and this is the habit of "not pretending to like someone". Whenever I am met with people whose actions don't sit well with me, I act out subconsciously. I make them know I don't like certain parts of their character and sometimes I wish I could control this but It has dyed my soul so deeply that I am stuck with it and I have come to terms with it.

This is my response to @galenkp Weekend-Engagement Concept.

Image used is mine.

Still yours truly,
Balikis.

Thanks for reading.

Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.

Sometimes we judge wrongly just by mere look, we criticize how people are without getting to know them and we assume alot without knowing the whole truth well such is life we can't change people but we can work on ourselves to become better. I enjoy reading nice piece!

Thank you for sharing dear friend, a habitual feed to our minds and emotions culminates into the thoughts we express (including those of childhood).

You've written well

How much truth there is in your post, how many things stain our soul, thoughts, beliefs, repetitions, words, ancestors and form us. The good thing is to be able to remove those codes and release them.

Thank you @balikis95 ❤️

Anything our eyes feed our head is what goes to the hear then our reaction will definitely follow.
That is why I don't like bad news because it takes time before I forget things

Words are certainly powerful. They also have the potential to be misused and as a result cause harm.

This is you responding to the reaction of your inner being and the best way to fight that is to act like all is nice and just smile foolishly. Trust me it works for me like that, I am not the one intentionally choosing who to like someone and hate them.

My inner being does that, it chases them away by bringing forth that attitude and before you could contain it, it will display itself. So what I do is smile silly and foolishly and boom I conquered it but immediately I leave that presence, I will rebuke it.

This way it can help you accommodate people around you. Meanwhile, there's a reason why you don't like that person maybe simply because their aura is negative and would badly influence you.

Just be you but adjust when it's necessary because it is essential for your growth.

This is something I can't do. Not that I cannot but would rather not. We are different for a reason and I appreciate your words. I really do. But I have this crazy annoying conscience that bully me if I act like that.

"Meanwhile, there's a reason why you don't like that person maybe simply because their aura is negative and would badly influence you.."

Now, we have gotten somewhere. My attitude toward people in this manner have saved me lots of bullshit. The thing is if I act like that to someone,it is because my spirit don't align with the person and when my spirit don't... It means the person is bad news to me and edging on toward being all smile with the person will end up biting me hard.

I am growing. Yes, I do agree I am not much of a people person though I still like people but I'd rather work with my way and do things best beknownest to me.

I do appreciate your time here and glad you read through. You are awesomely made @cescajove

This is me telling you ways I use to keep those folks away. It might not work for you at all cause like you said we are all different. Sometimes, I just figure a pattern that would help me keep them at bay. My privacy is my solace, so anyone interrupting that space isn't healthy for me.

Simply an expression of thoughts lol

Me too @balikis95, me too.
I can't seem to fake liking someone even if it means death to me haha
Well, there's a lot more great consequences in being real.

And also, I have this habit of brainwashing myself too to neutralize my habits like smiling 😊 and it helps. I consciously think I should be grateful and it works for I find myself happy.😌

Haha... I am glad I met my kind. Thank ya. Not faking it is my motto. I know we are not perfect and don't have the best characters but there somethings people shouldn't do.

Yeah, you should. Thanks for stopping by #dreemer☺️☺️.
