During this time of year, the weather in Phuket was unpredictable. The sun could be shining one moment and rain pouring the next. This volatility didn’t deter me from my usual routines, except perhaps from visiting the beach. This afternoon, the sky alternated between bursts of sunshine and sudden downpours. I decided to seek refuge in a cozy cafe near my house.

The small establishment, named "Sunflowers Cafe and Painting," was perfect for art enthusiasts like myself. Situated close to Phuket Rajabhat University, it was a popular haunt for students seeking a quiet place to study or a creative space to draw. The drive was short, only fifteen minutes, but the journey took me through the charming streets of my neighborhood, dotted with vibrant markets and bustling local shops.

The cafe was divided into two zones. The first was an outdoor area with a roof to protect it from the rain. The open sides were decorated with plants and various painted leftovers, transforming it into a beautiful corner for taking photos. I particularly enjoyed this area, where empty bottles were painted in bright colors and arranged in a row at the front of the cafe. This vibrant display never failed to lift my spirits.

After taking 3-4 photos, I walked inside to the air-conditioned room and ordered my favorite, green tea, of course, along with waffles. The employee asked me if I wanted to draw too or just relax. I replied that I liked art but drawing wasn't really my thing. While waiting for my drink and dessert, I took photos of the cutely decorated interior, focusing on the eggshell yellow tones adorned with dream catchers. The chairs had sunflower cushions, which I found absolutely charming.

I took a lot of photos of the air-conditioned room because I adored the style of decoration—it was cute and warm, creating a comforting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

After about ten minutes, my iced green tea and waffles were served to the table, the hot waffles fresh out of the oven. The delightful aroma filled the air, and I couldn’t resist digging in immediately. The taste was delicious, and the price was pleasantly inexpensive.

I spent the afternoon lost in my thoughts, the unpredictable weather outside only adding to the serene ambiance inside the cafe. The rain came and went, but within the walls of Sunflowers Cafe and Painting, time seemed to slow down. Each moment was captured in the sips of my green tea, the taste of my waffles, and the charm of the decor around me.

After I had my fill, I explored the rest of the cafe that I had yet to explore. Here, in addition to the drawing activity, there was also the activity of stringing colorful beads. This was a hobby that people could enjoy, adding another layer of creativity to the already artistic atmosphere.

To my delight, the outer zone was a treasure trove of artistic expression. Paintings from various artists adorned the walls, showcasing a diverse range of styles and themes. Drawing tools and materials were readily available, inviting patrons to unleash their creativity. Intrigued, I immersed myself in this creative haven for nearly two hours, absorbing the artistic energy that permeated the space.

As the afternoon wore on, the unpredictable weather outside added a touch of drama to the serene ambiance within the café. Despite the rain that came and went, my time at Sunflowers Cafe and Painting felt like a tranquil retreat from the outside world. Each moment spent exploring the artwork and engaging with the creative environment left me feeling inspired and rejuvenated.

Eventually, as the sun began to peek through the clouds, signaling a break in the weather, I gathered my belongings reluctantly, feeling a sense of contentment and fulfillment. The café had provided not only a sanctuary from the elements but also a sanctuary for creativity and artistic expression. With a heart full of inspiration, I departed, looking forward to returning soon to this oasis of art and tranquility.
