Hello everyone

As a resident of Phuket, I have had the pleasure of visiting the Big Buddha Temple many times, but my most recent visit was two years ago. This time around, I decided to take a different approach and drive up to the temple instead of walking.

I set out early in the morning, eager to see the temple once again. As I drove up the winding road to the top of Khao Nakkerd, I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity. The lush greenery and the beautiful surroundings had not changed in the slightest.

As I made my way up the mountain, I was struck by the abundance of attractions that dotted the road. Along the way, I met a few tourists who were jogging to the top of the mountain where the statue of the Great Buddha overlooks the whole island of Phuket. The winding road was lined with restaurants and cafes, many of which were still closed for the morning.

As I continued my journey, I noticed a few other interesting sights. There was an elephant camp that was open for tourists to feed or ride the elephants and see the beauty of nature in the forest. Additionally, there were ATVs available for rent, allowing visitors to drive up Khao Nak Kerd and see the sights from a different perspective.

I saw a lot of elephants on the hill they were eating the food that their mahouts had brought for them. I couldn't resist the opportunity to stop and watch them for a while. It was a peaceful and serene scene, and I felt grateful to be able to witness it.

Finally, I reached my destination, the Big Buddha Temple. As always, the temple was surrounded by lush greenery and the large white Buddha image stood majestically against the backdrop of the blue sky. I spent some time exploring the temple and its surroundings, taking in the stunning views and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

As I made my way to the temple, I couldn't help but notice the golden Buddha image that stood next to the large white Buddha image. The contrast between the two statues was striking, and I couldn't help but admire the intricate details and craftsmanship that went into creating them.

The sun was shining through the shadows of the trees, casting a warm glow over the temple and its surroundings. The peaceful ambiance and the beauty of the temple were breathtaking. I felt a sense of serenity and peace wash over me as I took in the beauty of the temple.

As I walked towards the front of the Great White Buddha, I was struck by the breathtaking view that greeted me. The temple was situated on the top of a mountain, and in front of it was a sea view that took my breath away. The thick fog that blanketed the sea added a mystical and surreal quality to the scene.

Although it was almost 8 o'clock in the morning, the fog was so thick that I couldn't see the view of Chalong Bay clearly. But the beauty of the scene was undeniable. The big golden sun was reflecting off the sea, creating a beautiful and serene scene. The sun was not clear because of the fog, but it was still a beautiful sight to behold.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as I stood there, taking in the beauty of the temple and its surroundings. The peaceful ambiance and the serene setting made me feel like I was in a different world.

The Big Buddha Temple is truly a treasure trove of natural beauty and cultural heritage, and I feel grateful to have the opportunity to visit it so many times. The sea view from the temple is truly a unique and beautiful sight, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Phuket. The thick fog in the sea added an extra layer of beauty that I had never seen before, and it was truly a magical experience.

As I climbed the white Naga staircase, I felt a sense of awe and reverence. The staircase led to the top of the temple, where the large Buddha image, "Phra Putcha Ming Mongkhon Aknakkhiri" stood. This image is a white Buddha in the subduing Mara posture, which stood out beautifully and was truly magnificent to behold.

The Buddha image was truly impressive, measuring 25 meters wide and 45 meters high, made of reinforced concrete and decorated with white Burmese jade marble. The intricate details and craftsmanship that went into creating the image were truly remarkable. The white marble shone in the sunlight, highlighting the delicate details of the statue.

As I approached the image, I felt a sense of peace and serenity. The statue was surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful ambiance of the temple was truly captivating. I spent some time exploring the temple, taking in the stunning views and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

As I walked around the base of the Big Buddha, I was struck by the beauty of the golden Buddha images that surrounded it. The images were lined up in various positions, creating a stunning display against the bright blue sky. Each image was intricately detailed and beautifully crafted, adding to the beauty of the temple.

The area around the Big Buddha was constantly blowing wind, making it a refreshing and pleasant place to be. The wind added a serene and peaceful ambiance to the temple. The wind was blowing through the trees and making the leaves rustle gently, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.

I spent some time exploring the temple, taking in the stunning views and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The golden Buddha images added a unique and beautiful aspect to the temple, and the constant wind made the experience even more enjoyable.

As I walked around the temple, I noticed that the trees were adorned with golden Bodhi leaves. Tourists had written their wishes on the leaves and hung them on the branches in large numbers. It was an interesting sight to see and it added a unique aspect to the temple.

I learned that the golden Bodhi leaves were a symbol of good luck and good fortune. Many people believe that writing their wishes on the leaves and hanging them on the trees will bring them good luck and make their wishes come true.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and positivity as I walked among the trees, surrounded by the golden Bodhi leaves and the wishes of so many people. It was a reminder that we all have dreams and aspirations, and that with hope and determination, anything is possible.

On the top of the mountain, the view from the base of the Buddha statue was truly breathtaking. It was a 360-degree viewpoint that offered a panoramic view of Phuket and the surrounding islands. From this vantage point, I could see Kata Beach, Karon Beach, and Chalong Bay clearly. If I looked from below, I could also see Khao Naga, a high mountain, in the distance.

The Buddha statue was not the only thing that caught my attention, there were many monkeys living on this mountain as well. They were running around and playing, adding to the beauty of the natural surroundings. It was interesting to see how they were living in harmony with the visitors and the temple.

Although the Big Buddha Temple is not yet completed, it is still a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The temple is still under construction, but the large white Buddha image and the golden Buddha images, along with the natural beauty of the surrounding area, make it a worthwhile destination. Even though it is not finished, the temple already has an aura of serenity and calmness, which is a testament to the skill of the builders and the spiritual significance of the site.

Many visitors still flock to the temple to see the Buddha image, to enjoy the views and to find peace and serenity in the natural surroundings. The temple is a work in progress, but the finished product is sure to be even more magnificent.

It's also important to note that some parts of the temple may be closed off for safety reasons. Visitors should always obey any signs or instructions from temple officials to ensure their own safety and to respect the ongoing construction.

The Big Buddha Temple is truly a treasure trove of natural beauty and cultural heritage, and it's definitely worth visiting even in its incomplete state. The combination of spiritual significance, natural beauty and cultural heritage make it an unforgettable experience that I will always cherish.
