Yesterday was a special day - my oldest son had a day off from his busy schedule. I hadn't seen him in ages, so I was really looking forward to it. In the afternoon, my husband and I met up with him for lunch at the Central Department Store, a place that holds a lot of meaning for our family.

We decided to grab a meal at "Shabushi Buffet," which is part of Oishi, a famous restaurant chain in Thailand. In Thailand, people tend to have strong connections, and Oishi is one of those places that brings people together.

We got to the restaurant around 2:00 PM. Now, Shabushi is a pretty unique spot. It's a buffet with a twist - food is placed on a conveyor belt and it keeps moving, showing off a variety of dishes. It's a cool setup. And here's the kicker - it's only 399 baht and you get a solid hour and fifteen minutes to enjoy it.

We walked in, hit by this mix of incredible smells and a whole bunch of people happily chowing down. Shabushi's lineup was impressive - sushi, sizzling stir-fries, bowls of steaming noodle soup - you name it. It was like a food carnival.

Once we settled into our seats, a friendly staff member handed us a menu featuring four different types of soup to choose from. After making our selections, I strolled over to the corner of the restaurant, where an enticing spread of sushi toppings and a colorful assortment of ice cream awaited. The array of beverages was also there for customers to grab themselves.

I carefully selected four pieces of sushi, savoring the anticipation of their unique flavors. With my choices in hand, I made my way back to our table, eager to share this culinary adventure with my family.

Inside the bustling restaurant, a steady stream of customers filled the space with lively chatter and a pleasant buzz of activity. My favorite part of the experience was when the conveyor belt, carrying those thin, succulent slices of pork that I adore, glided right in front of me. I grabbed a plate and delicately immersed it in the steaming hot soup, creating a mouthwatering combination that never failed to satisfy.

The array of choices was almost overwhelming. Aside from the pork, there were thin, marbled slices of meat, plump shrimp, tender squid, flavorful meatballs, and an assortment of vibrant vegetables passing by. It was a feast for the senses, and every dish that came my way was as delectable as the last. There were moments when the sheer abundance of options left me momentarily indecisive.

We indulged ourselves until we were comfortably full, relishing each bite and savoring the time together. With contented hearts and satisfied appetites, my husband and I made our way to pick up our youngest son from school. As for our eldest, he headed back to his own place, just a stone's throw away from the Central Department Store. It was a day filled with cherished moments and a taste culinary delights that would linger in our memories.
