A Nature lover's Delight: Bougainvillea and Kathu Waterfall in Phuket

Phuket's weather has been unpredictable lately, with almost daily rainfalls in the evening and cool winds in the morning. The heat during the day can be unbearable, but there's a perfect spot to escape the scorching sun - Kathu Waterfall.

Located in the Kathu Subdistrict, this small waterfall is a popular destination for nature lovers and tourists alike. Unlike my last visit, where the atmosphere was lonely and eerie due to the lack of visitors, this time the waterfall was bustling with foreign tourists throughout the day.

The water flow at the waterfall may not be as strong as during the rainy season, but the surrounding area is shaded by tall trees and offers a refreshing break from the heat. Plus, there are delicious restaurants nearby for those looking to grab a bite to eat.

The Kathu Waterfall is at its most beautiful and lush during the rainy season, from July to December. Visitors during this time can expect to see the waterfall in full flow. However, if you're visiting Phuket during the high season, the water flow at the waterfall may not be as strong.

The Kathu Waterfall has three levels in total. The first level is popular for swimming, the second floor is great for viewing the surrounding scenery and the top floor has a nature trail for studying the nature of the waterfall. If you're looking for a cooler alternative to the beach, I highly recommend visiting Kathu Waterfall. It's a must-see destination for anyone visiting Phuket.

Tourists can't help but be mesmerized by the vibrant hues of pink as they walk towards the waterfall. The bouganvilleas' delicate petals and lush green leaves complement the natural beauty of the waterfall, making for a truly breathtaking sight.
