Dim sum, a symphony of delicate flavors, was the cherished breakfast fare of Phuket, a place where Thai-Chinese traditions wove seamlessly into daily life. The island boasted a thriving community of Thai-Chinese people, resulting in a rich tapestry of cultures, particularly in culinary practices. I, too, relished the chance to savor this delectable cuisine whenever the opportunity arose.

However, the dim sum scene was dominated by a handful of steadfast establishments, seldom swayed by the winds of change. Yesterday, a fresh breeze blew through my routine. After bidding farewell to my son at the school gates, I found myself with a brief window before my appointment at the bank.

The sun hung lazily in the sky as I entered the realm of "Bang Chiam Dim Sum" for the very first time. Its existence had been revealed to me during a visit to the charming flower cafe, nestled just beyond the dim sum emporium. Both places shared a common guardian.

For ages, I had harbored a desire to sample the offerings at "Bang Chiam Dim Sum." The stars had finally aligned, and yesterday presented itself as the perfect opportunity. The bank, conveniently located nearby, ensured that the prospect was too tantalizing to resist.

I decided to try out a new restaurant I'd heard about. When I pulled up, I noticed the front had this cool Chinese-style door that really caught my eye.

Inside, the place had a cozy vibe with red lanterns hanging all around. On the left, there was this freezer filled with dim sum options. I could already tell it was going to be a good meal.

The restaurant was divided into three areas, each with its own feel. The front part was wide and had this warm red decor. It felt lively, like a place where people gathered for good times.

I chose the second area on the left. It stretched back deep into the restaurant and was decked out with these colorful plastic flowers on the ceiling. It gave off this hidden garden kind of vibe, and I was drawn to it.

Zone three was in the back, with chic light bulbs and walls all in glass. It was modern, offering a clear view of everything going on. I could see why people liked this spot.

After I settled in, a friendly waiter brought over the menu. I went for a classic - fish porridge and a cup of green tea. Green tea is my go-to in any cafe or restaurant. There's just something about it that's comforting.

After placing my order for fish porridge and iced green tea, I strolled over to the dim sum refrigerated cabinet, a treasure trove of delectable options. The array was dizzying, each dish vying for my attention. Eventually, I had to make a choice. I settled on five or six dim sum varieties that looked particularly enticing.

With my selections in tow, I made my way to the counter, where an employee took charge. They deftly arranged the dim sum on a tray and ushered them into a steamer, a swift process that left me anticipating the delights to come.

As I returned to my table, I found both the iced green tea and a complementary hot tea had been thoughtfully placed before me. Time seemed to pass in a pleasant blur, and within about ten minutes, the tantalizing scent of freshly steamed dim sum filled the air.

An employee set a basket of dim sum in front of me, each morsel beckoning with its own unique allure. With a sense of anticipation, I savored each bite. There was no rush; I had nearly two hours before the bank would open.

When the last delectable morsel disappeared, I couldn't help but reflect on the experience. The dim sum here was undeniably exceptional. As the weekend approached, I knew without a doubt that I'd be extending an invitation to my family. This place was meant to be shared, and I couldn't wait for them to savor these culinary treasures as well.

I have never tasted a fish porridge before but I guess it should be nice just like every normal porridge

There's so many! I bet the noodles tatse good. We don't have that kind of resto in my place but we do have eateries that offers batchoy and i miss eating it already
