COMMUNITY RULES UPDATE

~ LAST CHANCE ~

Over a month ago, we alerted the Photography Lovers Community that we would begin to mute users that are still active on Steemit and Blurt. This was a tough decision, but the right one to make for our Community. We explained our reasoning and went over all the details in this post, COMMUNITY RULES UPDATE for PHOTOGRAPHY LOVERS, and even more details and explanation in the Comment Section.

To be fair and balanced, we gave a generous amnesty period where users could decide which path forward was best for them. This time was allotted so that anyone with funds over there could Power Down and liquidate their position without being in a rush. This time was also afforded so that some users would be able to make up their minds without pressure. This time is coming to a close.

~ AMNESTY IS ALMOST OVER! ~

If you missed the Rule Updates then please go read that post and the comment section to get the information you need to make the best informed decisions for your own future here, in Photography Lovers, as a user. We hate to have to mute anyone, unless they choose not to follow our Community Rules and Guidelines.

Since this change and community action is coming very soon, i would suggest getting your HIVE house in order if this rule change applies or affects you personally. Time is limited now, and the clock is ticking as we count down to muting those that choose not to abide here by this change of rule.

  • YOUR POST MUST HAVE AN ENGLISH TRANSLATION INCLUDED
  • MAKE SURE TO ANSWER YOUR COMMENTS & ENGAGE YOUR FOLLOWERS
  • GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT!

While they are welcome in the community, WE DO NOT CURATE cross-posts.

~ TIME TO PICK A SIDE ~

Since we will begin to mute accounts active on Steemit and Blurt soon, it's time to pick a side. If you are muted from Photography Lovers, there are plenty of other Photo Oriented Communities you are still welcome to use on HIVE.

I understand that some are community leaders and have spent years building those and developing connections on Steem. I respect their decision to not abandon that hard work. However, we cannot have a double standard here and when we take executive action... they will be muted.

We appreciate your time reading this and want to thank all of you that have already made your choices and have decided to solely commit to your endeavors here, on HIVE. We love all of our community users and members and appreciate you all. Without you... there would be no COMMUNITY!

Thank You Photography Lovers

Special Thanks To YOU ALL

Well, the first one was much nicer! hahaha
Thinking if maybe something similar should be implemented in the AAH community. We can discuss privately though.

It's actually the last rule we, and by we i mean me, chose to implement. I have given over a month and then some worth of time for those to choose and make their financial moves. Which side did you select, if i may ask?
Because one we pull this trigger... there's not much Repentance to be had @qwerrie!

Well, you may always check to see if I had fresh posts on Steem (no, I havent). But for me this decision doesnt sound right. I would be curious to dive into reading community's discussions on this issue (if you can direct me at).

Well, you can check the first rule update post mentioned more than once in this post and linked in the top, as well as the comment section in that post. I recommended that those both be read for more context to explain the reasoning why this choice was made. Feel free to go read that original post from over a month ago and the comment section fully. And you might want to actually read this post as well before getting sassy in the comment because you don't agree.

You haven't been active on Steem in 2 months from what i could tell when looking earlier... but you may want to liquidate all that Steem so you don't leave money on the table. That is the main reason i gave so much time for people with this amnesty period. Do whatever works best for you. But, don't decide until you have read both posts and the original comment section first. Either ways, i wish you all the best brother!

Sounds fair and I like your policy on AI as it allows people to experiment with it as long as they disclose it and use some elements of their own work. I have been using stable diffusion running locally and training it on some of my own photography to see what kind of output I get. I plan to share with the community once I get done with my testing.

Running it locally must give you a lot more options to play around with than the apps etc. We are more open to folks that us AI as a tool, such as the way you mention using it. Other than photography outputs just from prompts, i haven't seen enough photographers use their own content as a starting point... enough. I thinks it's the very early stages of a revolution, similar to when digital photography dwarved film photography. Though, i don't think AI will come close to a good photographer that knows what they are doing!

Just make sure to show and explain your process, disclose your tools, and before and after images as well as process shots along the way. AI is going to be a challenge to regulate moving forward into the future, but it is also going to be a beneficial tool for many folks as well. Looking forward to seeing what you share.

All the rules are acceptable, I decided even to leave Steemit, and I already powered down my SP. But still there is one thing that does not suit me - this is the need to write some text. Please tell me, can 300 words of "description" be considered normal? I have a lot of beautiful photos, but the writer of me is like a ballerina of a goat🤣.

Glad you migrated fully to Hive and dumped your SP. Also, that's a great question! Since we are primarily concerned and focused on the Photographic content of your posts... it is more important to have quality images compared to a fancy body of text. The text rule is more of an issue for those that only post one image.

So, the more quality images a user shares... the less the text matters. Artists, and Photography is an art, don't always want to add more content as art can oftentimes speak for itself. However, to balance that out.... guiding your readers into what the art or photography is expressing, or at least sharing some settings/specs or part of the process is always good.
