A Visit to St Patrick's church in the land of Umuota Obosi
Hello everyone, today I want to share with you this unique place I visited. It is unique to me because I've never been to this place before, I only got to know about this place through the map and I found my way to this place also through maps and GPS. This place I visited is St Patrick's church located in Umuota Obosi Anambra State, Nigeria. A place known by the people as the city of victory. Locating this place wasn't easy but was quite thrilling as my eyes are partly glued to my phone for directions and partly on the road. I missed the road a couple of times due to issues with my GPS. The weather here is very hot, you won't believe it. The reason is seriously expressing the Harmattan season which is the period of no rainfall. The harmattan season has been for months now with no sign of rain.
St Patrick's church is a church building whose construction seems to have been recently completed and awaits being painted and some tiling of the environment. I had the opportunity to interact with some living closer to the church and I was amazed to know that some have already started worshipping in that church. He said the reason is because the construction of St Patrick's Anglican church helped reduce the long distance people in the region will have to go to get to St Andrew's Anglican church which is the next closest church and the oldest church in the region.
St Patrick's Anglican church looks quite big but not too big to be compared with the second closest church in the region which is St Andrew's Anglican church. The church has multiple windows perhaps for good ventilation but the windows look quite different from the type seen in most Anglican and Catholic churches. There are no drawings or any sort of art works on the windows. The doors of the church are metallic and there is clearly no sign of any drawings or artwork on them.
I went round the environment checking out for signs of any future construction of another structure but there seems to be none. The church has no tower like most other churches but the good thing is that the people living around it are happy and confessing positively as they don't have to trek to far distances any more to attend church services.
Around a distance of 30 meters away from the church there is a fenced compound whose part was smoothed and used to design the logo of the church and its days of activities with the name of the church written boldly within. The land where the church is built is sloppy and rough and I know the church may later consider leveling up the land and interlock the land with good materials. Another discovery that truly points out that the church is already in use is the two speakers which can clearly be seen as they are mounted on the walls of the church building.
Thank you very much for stopping by to see my post.
