A Visit to Nkpor Civic Center, one of the newest public buildings in the land of Nkpor
Happy new month everyone. Today I went to Nkpor Civic Center in Idemili North Local Government area of Anambra State, Nigeria. Nkpor is a town which had an estimated population of 219,377 people. A lot of new structures are being erected in the town which somehow improved the aesthetics of the area. The Nkpor Civic Center is one of the recent buildings that was constructed in the area and it is considered a very important location because it is sited in the heart of the town and can be sited by passersby. Where the difficulty lies is in identifying the location of this civic center by people from other towns and cities because those who live within may find it easy to locate this place but those living far away cannot easily locate it. This is the reason why I consider it important for this particular civic center to be in the map.
Today is Sunday and a beautiful day. I decided to stop by and check out this civic center and see what I can find. It wasn't easy stepping out under the harsh sun because the entire region is experiencing a serious harsh weather from the harmattan and everywhere is very dry. I'm even amazed to see the green flowers by the walls of the civic center, it could be because they're watered. Though I'm not from the region, I found out that the people in the region are very accommodating and good people because in the process of getting the location of the civic center I felt the need to drink some water and someone from a small shop opposite the civic center gave it to me.
It is important to note that this civic center is located very close to Eke Nkpor Market because that's where I dropped and from there walked to the building. It's really a gigantic building compared to other buildings located around it. At the time of my visit, there were many voices coming from inside the building and it appeared as though the building was filled to capacity. In fact the civic center is very much in use and it's an important place which can make people seek for ways to locate the building and even know what it looks like in order to not miss their road.
The building has the name “Nkpor Civic Center” boldly written on its frontage also “God is faithful”.
This civic center can be located along Nnobi - Nkpor Road because if as a traveler I decide to maintain moving straight through the road, I'll be able to get to enter Nnobi which is another town altogether but the distance is very far to be trekked.
I especially love the environment of the civic center and how peaceful the people within the environment are. There is not much noise in the location. The area is clean and seems well managed unlike most regions I've visited in the past. The road through which people can get through to assess the gates of the civic center can be closed at times to control the inward and outward movement of vehicles.
Thank you very much for stopping by and taking your beautiful time to read through my post. Bye for now, see you on the next one.
