Hello everyone! Today is September 9th. The day of the Liberation of Izmir. There were lots of celebrations and events in Izmir. Izmir was very crowded today, with people coming from neighboring provinces and even from far away. There was literally a pedestrian traffic problem. So it was a tiring day for me too. That's why I only had the opportunity to prepare my post at this hour. The place I am going to tell you about today is Atatürk Island.

Herkese merhaba! Bugün 9 Eylül. İzmir’in Kurtuluş’u günü. Bununla ilgili İzmirde bir sürü kutlama ve etkinlik düzenlendi. Çevre illerden, hatta uzaklardan gelen insanların da katılımıyla, bugün İzmir çok kalabalıktı. Resmen yaya trafiği sorunu vardı. Dolayısıyla benim için de yorucu bir gündü. Onun için ancak bu saatte paylaşımımı hazırlama fırsatım oldu. Bugün sizlere anlatacağım yer Atatürk Adası.

Ataturk Island is a small island in Foça. There is no life here. The reason why this island is named Atatürk is because the shape of the island resembles the silhouette of Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK, the founder of our country and the Republic. According to our friend whose house we stayed at, this island didn't have a name before. An officer serving at Foça Naval Base, during one of his missions at sea, noticed that the shape of the island resembled the silhouette and caused the island to be given this name. And I'm glad he did. Because it really looks very similar. We didn't stop near this island during our tour, but when our captain passed by, he slowed down and played the Izmir Anthem. This gave everyone on the boat goosebumps and heightened their national feelings. So I wanted to share this post on such a special day. I wish everyone happiness...

Atatürk Ada’sı Foça’da bulunan küçük bir ada. Burada herhangi bir yaşam yok. Bu adanın isminin Atatürk olmasının sebebi, adanın şeklinin Ülkemizin ve Cumhuriyet’in kurucusu Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK’ün siluetine benzemesi. Evinde kaldığımız arkadaşımızın söylediğine göre, önceden bu adanın bir ismi yokmuş. Foça Deniz Üssü’nde görev yapan bir subay, denizde bulunduğu bir görevi sırasında, adanın şeklinin siluete benzediğini fark edip, adaya bu ismin verilmesine sebep olmuş. İyi ki de yapmış. Çünkü gerçekten çok benziyor. Biz turumuz sırasında bu adanın yanında durmadık. Fakat Kaptanımız bu adanın yanından geçerken, yavaşladı ve İzmir Marşı çaldı. Bu teknede bulunan herkesin tüylerinin diken diken olmasına ve milli duygularının kabarmasına sebep oldu. Ben de bu paylaşımımı böyle özel bir güne yapmak istedim. Herkese mutluluklar diliyorum…

Aaaa evet, ilkten göremedim. Bu isimde bir ada olduğunu da bilmiyordum. Açıklamanızı okudum ve tekrar bakınca ben de çok net gördüm. Çok beğendim bu postu. Gerçekten o hissi yaşamakta başka keyif veriyor insana bazı konserlerde ben de benzer şeyler yaşıyorum, topluca marş okumak, ya da şehitlikleri ziyaret esnasında. O milli bilince ulaşmak ve gururlanmak çok özel bir durum.
Evet, tatilin ortasında, bir tekne turunda bile, insanı bir anda o havaya sokabiliyor. Beğenmenize ve ilginize sevindim. Teşekkür ederim.
