Hello hiver
Hello everyone, how are you
I'm back with a black and white photo of me that you might like and this is my entry

From a remote corner of North Aceh Regency, where dirt roads still connect one village to another and dense forests stand closely surrounding the settlements, children are trying to smile again after the difficult days they endured during the disaster.

The floods and landslides that struck their village some time ago destroyed homes and farmlands belonging to their families. The disaster also left traces of fear in the hearts of the children. Nights that were once filled with family laughter turned into nights of anxiety. Many of them still wake up whenever the rain falls, remembering the sound of rushing water that once carried mud and worry.

Under a simple tent, the atmosphere slowly began to change. The children sat in circles, drawing, playing, and learning together. They raised their hands enthusiastically, laughed during the games, and proudly showed the drawings they had created.

Seeing this condition,Atjeh Connection Foundation came bringing hope.Through the Children’s Trauma Healing Program, volunteers traveled across distance and challenging terrain to reach children in the affected areas.

The illustrated sheets they held were not merely activity papers. They became a simple way for the children to tell their stories, express their feelings, and slowly release the fear that still lingered within them.

The volunteers invited them to learn, listened to their stories, embraced them, and created a safe space where the children could begin to feel secure again.
Amid many limitations, the small tent transformed into a space of hope — a place where smiles slowly returned and where childhood, once interrupted, began to be woven back together.

The program “Weaving Smiles for Aceh’s Children” serves as a reminder that disaster recovery is not only about rebuilding damaged homes, but also about healing the trauma carried by children.

For Atjeh Connection Foundation, helping children rise again is not merely a humanitarian activity, but a commitment to ensuring that the future of Aceh remains filled with hope.
