Monomad Challenge-The Uniqueness of Becak in the City of Yogyakarta
Hello hiver
Hello everyone, how are you
I'm back with a black and white photo of me that you might like and this is my entry
Photographing the uniqueness of the Becak (rickshaw) in the city of Yogyakarta, which is popular with tourists. Becak rides in Yogyakarta are different from those in other cities in Indonesia. The unique atmosphere when visiting Yogyakarta is riding a becak, which is still a traditional mode of transportation.
Some becaks have been modified to use motor engines for easier operation. The uniqueness of Jogja's becak is that the passenger seats are in the front. Unlike becaks in other areas, where passengers usually sit next to the driver, in Jogja, the passenger position is in the front. This provides a new and unique experience, as passengers can enjoy the city's views more freely.
Many local and international tourists really enjoy riding a becak to explore Malioboro, the Keraton (Palace), or the old town area of Yogyakarta, because the atmosphere feels more relaxed and full of memories.
Those motorcycles are called tuk tuk. In my country they are known as cholo taxi, a somewhat derogatory name but that’s how it stayed. Your photos are beautiful, congratulations! I love how the series of motorcycles looks, one after another.
