That morning, I arrived at the Fish Auction Place (Tempat Pelelangan Ikan) in Pati, Central Java, to witness the pulse of activity among the local fishermen. I launched my drone directly above the scene, and from that height, I saw hundreds of fishing boats tightly lined up along the river—like a fleet of warships ready to battle the waves of the ocean.

The boats were packed along the riverbanks. I could see the hustle and bustle of unloading fish, and from time to time, small wooden boats passed between the larger vessels amidst the busy atmosphere.

I carefully looked for the right angle amid the crowded boats, while also monitoring wind conditions and GPS signal to ensure the drone remained stable and safe in the air.

From above, the calm river current below was actually full of life. The scene revealed just how dense yet orderly the boats were docked. Through the lens, the port came to life—this was a portrait of the hard-working lives of the fishermen.
