The Hard Struggle for the Tujuh Bidadari (Seven Angels) Waterfall: Travel |
The Tujuh Bidadari (read: Seven Angels) waterfall has long been viral in various mass media and social media. As one of the leading tourist destinations in North Aceh Regency, Indonesia, the Tujuh Bidadari waterfall has not been optimally managed.
That's natural because the location of the Tujuh Bidadari waterfall is in the middle of dense jungle, on the border between North Aceh Regency and Bener Meriah Regency. There is no road there. The closest access is in Sandi Hamlet which is located between large oil palm plantations.
We left using a pick-up truck with an open back. The sun was shining very fiercely, hot and dry. The road conditions were very bad, rocky and dusty. The two pick-up vehicles we were riding in had flat tires.
It had not yet reached Dusun Sandi. I decided to walk twice rather than wait under the sun. My skin was dry and dusty.
This was my first experience going to a prime tourist destination that was still virgin in North Aceh, Indonesia. Its name is Tujuh Bidadari waterfall. This tourist destination has long been viral, but it is not easy to reach the location, you have to stay overnight for two days on the journey through the virgin jungle.
We left Lhokseumawe at 10:00 WIB with a pick-up vehicle, but only arrived at the base camp at 16:00 WIB.
About six hours of travel, even though we used a pick-up vehicle and when we penetrated the jungle we used a zonder, a vehicle that is resistant to passing through muddy ground and heavy terrain. Both tires of the vehicle were tied with chains.
The location where we departed in Lhokseumawe, used to be in the same district as the location of the Tujuh Bidadari waterfall, a Lhokseumawe City became a new autonomous region. Although in the same area, we had to travel by vehicle for up to six hours.
When using two open-back pick-up units, two car tires burst because they hit sharp rocks. It was already very torturous because the sun was shining fiercely. The heat reached 34 degrees Celsius so we had to drink more water.
Rather than waiting for the tires to be patched under the blazing sun, I decided to continue the journey on foot. About 25 minutes of traveling in a barren oil palm plantation area, we were finally overtaken by a pick-up.
Until Dusun Sandi which is the last limit that can be reached by pick-up, we had to continue the journey without a car. Again I decided to walk to the nearest river. It was in the river that I took the opportunity to eat and take a number of photo documents.
This river is not yet in the area of the Tujuh Bidadari waterfall, but the nature here is too beautiful to be wasted. So, I'm posting this here before we can reach the waterfall by going through more difficult terrain.
Because we arrived at the nearest location at 5:00 p.m. and it was already dark, we didn't go straight to the Tujuh Bidadari waterfall. We set up camp on the edge of the river. The next day I went to the waterfall location.
It took about 30 minutes to get to the location. The water discharge was decreasing due to the dry season in June and July. This reduced the exoticism of the waterfall.
However, the roar of the water sounded very calming to my soul which was feeling upset because I had just broken up with my lover. I took pictures and felt the coolness of the waterfall that roared and poured from above with a white color.
Photos of the waterfall in the #monomad format look more classic even though we can't see the green of the surrounding trees. On another occasion, I will show the results of nature photo hunting in this community.
