Let's see various types of fish at Rubiah Island Marine Park, Sabang, Indonesia.

Rubiah Island in Sabang, Aceh (Indonesia) is a paradise tourist destination. For the beauty of coral reefs and various types of rare fish. For the beauty of coral reefs, Rubiah Island beats destinations in Bali which have become a favorite location for people around the world.
You can also see the beauty of the coral reefs on Rubiah Island without using snorkeling equipment. You only need to dive in clear sea water, the coral reefs can already be seen.

According to Jafar, a tourist guide in Sabang, many coral reefs in Sabang were damaged when a powerful earthquake measuring 9 on the Richter scale occurred in 2004. “At that time, many coral reef ecosystems were destroyed. "Now it's starting to get better again," said Jafar.

It's only takes about 10 minutes from the port to Rubiah Island by this boat.

However, this time I didn't photograph coral reefs. With the help of Taufik, a snorkeling guide on Rubiah Island, I want to present the underwater beauty of Sabang with various types of fish at the Rubiah Island Marine Park tour which is located northwest of Weh Island.

From the port, Rubiah Island can be reached by boat in about 10 minutes. Then, visitors walk about 60 meters to the snorkeling location. The name Rubiah itself is taken from the name written on a tombstone on the island.

At least 14 of the 15 marine biota protected in Indonesia are here. Prepare your diving and snorkeling equipment and feel free to swim with various tropical fish and play on colorful coral reefs. If you forget to bring snorkeling equipment, you can rent it for only IDR 40,000 and you can use it all day.

The area of Rubiah Island is approximately 35.79 hectares and the area of the underwater park of Rubiah Island and its surroundings is approximately 2,600 hectares, the forest is still very beautiful, the beaches are also clean.

The beauty of Rubiah Island is clearly visible from off the coast of Teupin Layee, Iboih, Sukakarya District. The clean, bluish sea can be seen down to the seabed at a depth of 5-20 meters.

Then, at a depth of 2-10 meters, hundreds of types of ornamental fish are very easy to find around Rubiah Island, not only that, tourists can also witness various types of coral reefs directly while playing with these ornamental fish like in a swimming pool.

At first glance the fish look tame, but once caught, they are very wild.

Dozens of speed boats and glass boats are on standby at the Teupin Layee Iboih pier and ready to take all tourists who want to tour Rubiah Island while enjoying the beauty of the underwater garden and various types of ornamental fish on glass boats.

The distance of Rubiah Island from Teupin Layee beach is approximately 200 meters and takes approximately 5-10 minutes using a speed boat or glass boat crossing service. To get around Rubiah Island itself takes approximately 30-40 minutes.

If from the center of Sabang City using a two-wheeled or four-wheeled motorbike it takes approximately 25-30 minutes with a distance of around 28-30 km.

To lure fish of various colors and shapes to come closer, is very easy. Visitors only need to tempt them with bait from a mixture of rice and instant noodles. When you sprinkle the bait at a depth of about half a meter, various types of fish come. They danced around us as if we could touch them easily.

However, these fish are not easy to catch. They enjoy being invited to dance together in the water. When visitors' hands are tempted to catch, the fish nimbly dodge.

In this #monomad photo parade, we can't see the beautiful colors of the fish. When taking photos with a waterproof camera, it feels as if we are swimming in an aquarium. The fish were so close and so foreign at the same time. They look friendly, while also keeping their distance from random hands who try to touch them.[]

Thank so much @malos10. When diving or snorkeling in the Rubiah Island marine park, it is like swimming in an aquarium because of the many ornamental fish.
