Bantayan Beach in Seunuddon is one of eight leading tourist destinations in North Aceh Regency, Indonesia. This marine tourism location is a frequent tourist destination, especially for tourists from Aceh. So far, no foreign tourists have visited Bantayan Beach specifically, unless they have other agendas and take advantage of this beach.

In mid-July 2025, the Bantayan Festival was held over the weekend, combining tourism with arts and culture, micro, small, and medium enterprises, and culinary delights. I was fortunate to be invited to serve as a judge during the last two Festivals, allowing me to take advantage of these activities for vacation, work, and posting in this community.

The trip from Lhokseumawe City, where I live, to Bantayan Beach takes about 1.5 hours, covering a distance of 46.2 kilometers. I arrived a bit late at the venue because Google Maps made me take a wrong turn.

There were two dances competing at the Bantayan Festival. The first was the Tarek Pukat dance, which I've previously posted on Hive. The second was the Ranub Lampuan dance, as seen in this post. The Ranub Lampuan dance is a traditional Acehnese dance performed to welcome guests.

Ranup means "betel" in Indonesian, while Lampuan means "inside a woman" or "cerana." This dance is usually performed by five or seven female dancers. They wear traditional Acehnese clothing, which uses primary colors like black, yellow, green, and red.

The both competitions are specifically for elementary school children in North Aceh Regency. I took photos with an SLR-D100 camera with a telephoto lens while assessing the dancers' movements.

In addition to photographing them on stage, I also photographed them backstage. They looked beautiful in their traditional Acehnese attire.

Enjoy, and thank you for your support.
