Este día, luego de la clase de pilates camine hacia la avenida Santa Fe en la ciudad de Buenos Aires para hacer el pago de trámites legales en un banco nacional, pero al llegar allí me dijeron que era en otro sitio, seguí caminando hasta llegar a correos Argentina y pude concretar el trámite. De regreso, me percate que justo al frente estaba el Jardín Botánico de la ciudad, sin dudarlo, atravesé la avenida para visitarlo.

This day, after the pilates class I walked towards Santa Fe avenue in the city of Buenos Aires to make the payment of legal procedures in a national bank, but when I got there I was told that it was in another place, I kept walking until I got to the post office in Argentina and I could complete the procedure. El Jardín Botánico está ubicado en la avenida Santa Fe, herencia dejada por Carlos Thays, quien nació en París el 20 de agosto de 1849 y murió a la edad de 85 anos en Buenos Aires, dejando a su paso un legado de parques públicos en varios países: Uruguay, Chile y Brasil. Según la información recabada a medida que avanzaba, el propósito fundamental de este gigantesco Jardín (7 hectáreas aproximadamente) es: por un lado la conservación de la biodiversidad y por otro la educacion ambiental.

Ofrece la posibilidad de visitas guiadas, cursos, talleres, voluntariado, conferencias y seminarios sobre temas relacionados con la conservación vegetal. Llamó mi atención los invernaderos para especies con requerimientos ambientales específicos, colecciones botánicas y artísticas, más de 40 especies de palmeras, plantas nativas que funcionan como biocorredores que conectan espacios y embellecen el jardín.

Entrar al Jardín Botánico fue como entrar a otra dimensión, un oasis de silencio a pesar del contraste del ritmo agitado de la ciudad, tráfico y comercios en el exterior. Mientras caminaba el canto de los pájaros se convirtió en una hermosa melodía, las hojas movidas por el viento, la perfección de la naturaleza mostrando serenidad y orden, para donde dirigía la mirada encontraba espacios naturales, matices, aromas de flores y árboles, en fin, un abanico de estímulos sensoriales que invitaron a sentarme y contemplar la magia de este lugar.

Entering the Botanical Garden was like entering another dimension, an oasis of silence despite the contrast of the hectic pace of the city, traffic and stores outside. As I walked the birds singing became a beautiful melody, the leaves moved by the wind, the perfection of nature showing serenity and order, wherever I looked I found natural spaces, nuances, aromas of flowers and trees, in short, a range of sensory stimuli that invited me to sit and contemplate the magic of this place.

Perdí la noción del tiempo, acepte la invitación del momento a detenerme, a dejar que el silencio profundo me envolviera en conexión con la naturaleza, me desconecte por un buen rato para volver a conectarme con la realidad (me esperaban 15 cuadras para regresar a casa). Respire profundo, mire al cielo y continué mi camino llevando la melodía silenciosa de la naturaleza en mi corazon.

I lost track of time, I accepted the invitation of the moment to stop, to let the deep silence envelop me in connection with nature, I disconnected for a while to reconnect with reality (I had 15 blocks to go back home).
