Traversing the paths of classical and realist art.

Beauty is found in the simplest things in life, in exquisite art, in nature and in the human figure, but when all of these are brought together in a single walk it is a wonder.

While nature walks are, I believe, the greatest wonder of the world, many times that nature is captured on a canvas that spans time.

We are part of that nature, it is what creates us and gives us the life and sustenance to walk the earth, therefore, we are part of it. Many artists have painted nature, seas, forests, plains, mountains, plants, animals and the human being himself on their canvases.

Art based on the human being and the human figure is something spectacular. The human body is such a detailed and perfect creation in essence and many over time have wanted to portray such beauty. I always say that this takes me back to my student days and I believe that one never stops learning.

Attending exhibitions where this quality and perfection in paintings is shown, and even more so in reference to the human body, in each of its details, is a walk that I enjoy very much, because I spend a lot of time admiring each brushstroke, the perfection of the strokes and the expressions of the faces.

In my teenage days, above all, I learned how to paint the skin, the exact colour, how the brushstroke should be made, how to shade the right part and where to give light. Light and shadow are what create the relief and allow us to see realism. My painting teacher, Gloria, was an expert in painting faces, she did it perfectly, she could make an exact portrait of the person to such an extent that it looked like a photograph and in this walk as in those times, when I saw her painting I was ecstatic to see the movement of her hands on the canvas until she created a magnificent work.

20241229_162226.jpg20241229_162107.jpg

Therefore, when I see these works, I see the brushstrokes and I seem to see the painter in his time moving his hands, his fingers on the canvas, I look at each painting and I know what each colour is called, what colours were used and I can even tell which one he painted first. I enjoyed each of these pieces of art to the fullest, the perfection of the curves, the faces, the hair, the hands and the feet.

The expressions of faces are such a complicated thing to do, the face is what takes the most time in a painting and that is why I value each of these works of art. I walked among them happy to be able to appreciate them, to admire them and to have the immense opportunity to be in front of them in person. I am very grateful for that.

There was no shortage of sculptures in the art exhibition called ‘Nudes’, a time in history when art focused on the human figure, especially women. Normally, at that time, models were painted, not the models we know today, but people who posed to make art, and this is still done today, especially in art schools.

In other cases artists painted from photographs, although this was more common in landscape paintings. Portraying a person is a unique and wonderful experience. If you pay attention to every part of the human body you will realise that nature is detailed, wonderful and perfect, only nature can make such a beautiful creation as a human being.

I admire this kind of art very much, because often the artist even manages to paint the soul of the people, which is evident in the look, in the poses, in the gestures of the faces. Every detail counts, especially in the skin, expression marks, wrinkles, shine in the eyes. I know that not everyone looks at art as I do, but the important thing is to take creation into account.

As I went from one painting to the next, I loved it more and more, and I went round the room several times to see the paintings I liked the most, and it was precisely the ones I saw that I focused on.

Although at the end of the hall I came across a somewhat different style, like abstract, it had its own interesting art. But I stress that the classical and realistic style is always my favourite.

20241229_163211.jpg20241229_163217.jpg20241229_163227.jpg

At the end there was a very beautiful sculpture with an important glow and I always try to see the sculptures from different points of view, it gives me an idea of the whole. Just like I did with the human figure sculpture before.

It was an incredible display and walk through beauty, art and human nature. Near the exit I came across this wall, where there is a place to leave thoughts or opinions, I found it interesting.

At the door leading to the shop I could also see art, this museum is all about art and that is why it is one of my favourites, the Thyssen Museum.

Their shop always offers products related to the art exhibits that are on display at the time and the items are very varied and beautiful.

Hi @avdesing, you always bring us something new from the Thyssen museum. This time the naked human body. I don't have any favorite work among all the ones you have shown us, but I agree that the most “abstract” ones are the ones I like the least.

That museum is a marvel, thank you very much for continuing to show it here.

A big hug.

I've just come back from a lagoon... it's time to rest a bit hahaha

So it's not raining over there. Today I wanted to go out to see a nighttime show and it's not going to be possible: it won't stop raining.

Have a rest, tomorrow we expect another post from you. I don't know if it will be the one of the lagoon?

It rarely rains here hahaha it rained 4 drops yesterday.... 4.. What a pity about the show. The only night out I like is walking. I don't like noises and so many people... you know I'm a loner or rather of nature.

Yes, tomorrow it will be the lagoon, a new place that I didn't know and I was super happy!!! Thank you!

Well, the night precisions are different, as the ones in Madrid are less crowded than in Andalucia. At night there are even less people. Today I would have to leave near Sol at 20:30, and I would have liked to take some pictures at night. Or to record some Saeta for Hive... But it won't be until next year (if it doesn't rain).

I'm looking forward to seeing those photos of the lagoon, this year it must have water and be beautiful and full of birds.

Well, patience will come.

Here in the centre there are a lot of people, when I travel there I go to several places and I take advantage of it, but I prefer to go to distant places. The lagoon is beautiful, there are ducks! And so much green around .... I think I took 140 photos...hahaha and I ended up dead from walking!

Wow!

I think that as they are antique paintings they are placed in frames, at home I had those frames and they are beautiful, with landscape paintings but antique, I love them! Thanks for joining me on this Wednesday walk!

I always find the nude in art and photography very interesting. From the shop I liked the books by Almodóvar (he visto muchas de sus películas) and Annie Leibovitz... she is a photographer. I bought them.
