Summer is drawing to a close, but the walks continue – Boats, little squares, the sea and poetry.

Summer has only just ended, just a few days ago, or so the calendar says, although here summer continues, albeit in a milder form, perfect for relaxed, refreshing walks.

I love that the weather is so stable and that the rises and falls in temperature are so gentle, because that means there are plenty of lovely days throughout the year, without a very cold winter. Walks are better when it’s less hot; walking for long periods is much more enjoyable.

The sea, the beach and the seafront promenades are my favourites for long walks because I alternate between walking on the sand, feeling the water and savouring the moment, whilst also discovering the places and views offered by the various seafront promenades.

I love venturing onto the piers to get a closer look at the sea, but I also enjoy the various squares and small plazas with their lush greenery, so well-maintained and perfect for having a lovely time. As you know, I love having lunch surrounded by nature, and even more so by the sea, as if the sea air had something to do with everything always being so much better.

A day of bright sunshine, with a deep blue sky, that beautiful, brilliant blue that I’ve always loved and which still catches my eye, contrasts with the white houses, the soft sand and the deep green of the palm-tree groves, where I spend a lovely time sitting, touching the earth and admiring the scenery, before continuing my walk.

What I like most about walks is that, for me, they usually involve discovering new places and things, but they’re also moments of relaxation for the soul and, as I always say, they’re a special way to achieve peace of mind. It’s as if with every step I leave behind the negative aspects of my various experiences, creating space to think more clearly and, of course, to focus on the positive. Walks clear the mind and strengthen the heart.

When I go to beaches that are far from the most famous ones, as in this case, the smell of the sea, that salty scent, is intense and I love it; it’s like being in a place where human influence is minimal and everything feels more natural.

I never tire of saying how much I love the sea foam, as if it were a soft, white, radiant fabric resting on the sand. The sound of the gentle waves is very relaxing and is one of my favourite sounds, along with the sound of rain.

During my walk, I came to a spot where there were lots of boats on the sand, something I love to see; they create a beautiful scene, at least for me. And the fact is, there are lots of water sports practised in that area. Everything is specially set up for it.

And next to where the boats were, there was a huge little square with white gazebos which, when viewed against the sky, created a striking contrast. There were two large fountains, plenty of space to walk, benches to rest on, and although there’s little shade in that exact spot, there is plenty in the surrounding area, as well as exercise equipment.

There’s no excuse here: if anyone wants to exercise but doesn’t want to go to a gym, there are plenty of places, I’d say countless spots, where you can find this sort of equipment; you’ll find it in almost every square, on the beaches and in the parks.

Behind the little square there are loads of bars and restaurants; it’s a lovely, very well maintained spot. There were lots of people strolling around there, although, as you know, I don’t like taking photos with lots of people in them.

This part of the vast stretch of beach at El Palo is one of the prettiest, and there are also plenty of references to poets. The fact is, art is ever-present throughout the city, whether in the form of poems, quotes, works of art, paintings, murals, sculptures or music. Everything is art, and I love that.

I spent a lovely afternoon walking around the area; I’ve also been there a few times this summer, I wish I’d been able to go more often, but it’s the quality that counts.

Thank you very much for joining me today on this Wednesday stroll; I send you my warmest regards. See you soon.
Amonet.

Good morning, @avdesing. With such a hot summer coming to an end, I get the feeling you’ll have the chance to enjoy many walks like this one. The photos convey a sense of tranquility, and regarding the mention of poets—I’m going to look up who Emilio Prados is. Thanks for the walk.

I hope you have a lovely day.

I’ll soon have two really busy weeks ahead of me when my mum’s cousin comes to stay – there’ll be so many outings… it’ll be amazing. In fact, I’ll be a bit absent from here… I think. Thank you very much!

Good afternoon @abdesing, I’ll give you my opinion: I think you’ll be spending more time on Hive than you should… Another opinion… Make the most of every moment of such a special visit.

Feliz tarde!!

Hello, dear friend @avdesing, how are you?

Una hermosura total, me inspiro mucho las imágenes de las pequeñas olas llegando a la orilla, uufff no se pero cuando las vi recordé ese sonido a olas marinas y sentí ese olor a arena y sal....Creo que necesito ir al mar.
