Smell of pine, eucalyptus and fresh air.

Pine trees are great producers of oxygen and other goodness that many people don't know about, and they are wonderful. And in nature you can find all the goodness, the answers, of course if you know how to listen to them.

Recently, at the weekend, I visited a place I had never been to before.

Looking at the map a few days ago, I discovered that there is a forest on the outskirts of my city. I had been thinking about going there for several days, but the weather was not in my favour.

Sunday was a perfect day, sunny, not too cold and with a light breeze. So I packed some lunch there, my water bottle, comfortable shoes and set off on the hike.

I like long walks so I didn't get tired getting to the place. I like to go to new places in nature and experience everything it has to offer me.

When I start to enter the thicket of that place I was fascinated. I have been to some of the nearby hills several times, but not to a forest.

To look up at the sky and see such tall trees defying everything is breathtaking.

It was another view, all green, full of birdsong. A long walk awaited me uphill, because the terrain is not at all level.

I was surprised by the red, volcanic-like soil, the colours that form when the sun illuminates these areas.

All the terrain there is uneven and there are many rocks, so I had to be very careful. Trees were everywhere, it was an amazing landscape, very different from a mountain or hill where it is so arid.

Best of all, although I couldn't see them I was surrounded by lots of birds chirping.

I had hoped to see squirrels, chameleons, but it didn't happen. There are also snakes, rats, spiders and other animals in the area, but as it is winter, I guess they are hibernating.

Walking through this place reminded me of my friend from Argentina, she lives in a city where there is a pine forest and she recommended me to go through the trails..... I didn't listen to her, luckily I didn't meet any snakes.

In this case it was the same, there are trails, but... I'm a bit crazy and many times I didn't follow them, so I could get inside the life of the forest.

This place is part of a large forest park, but it is so large that I decided to split the map and walk only a part of it this time. It was more like initially experiencing the place.

20240218_151505.jpg

20240218_151509.jpg

I like walking among the trees, looking at the treetops, the shapes of the trunks and the shadows they cast on the ground.

It struck me that most of the trees are leaning, possibly because of the usual wind direction of the place.

Today I remember last Sunday and I seem to be walking through the vegetation again and smelling the trees.

That smell of pine.... So particular and so beautiful. When I am in the middle of nature my five senses are with her, to absorb everything she has to give me.

20240218_151653.jpg

20240218_151655.jpg

Some areas were shadier, the trees are closer together and their canopies lusher. This made it cooler and the sun's rays wanted to sneak through the leaves.

Many times I went off the paths and climbed small hills, I slipped, but I didn't fall, I was careful.

I liked to admire the bark of the trees and their textures, the patterns formed on them.

I also pay a lot of attention to the ground where I walk. And it was to be expected that there was a lot of pinocha, as we say in Argentina, to the pine needles that fall and serve to fertilize the soil.

20240218_160121.jpg20240218_160228.jpg

20240218_151837.jpg

This first time there, as well as exploring a bit, was to see if there were pine trees and what kind of pine trees there were.

I am very interested in getting pine needles, but of one pine tree in particular, to make tea. That tea is a powerful immune system booster, more than any other and very beneficial for going out.

I want to get those pine needles in natural form, but of course, if I can't find it here, I will buy what I need from the right place. I prefer the natural and its benefits.

From nature you can get everything good, nature is medicinal for both body and soul.

20240218_151843.jpg

Although I arrived home tired after a long walk of more than 3 hours and climbing many hills, the feeling of walking among pines, eucalyptus and other varieties of trees was incredible.

Next time I will go with the aim of seeing the famous squirrels and who knows what else this place will surprise me with, and explore the whole area, as it is huge and beautiful.

Also, I will be more focused on looking for those pine trees, so knowing some of the terrain I know where to walk and look specifically.

Pine tea is easy to prepare, has a forest and earthy aroma, is high in vitamin C, A and other vitamins. It is anticoagulant and greatly strengthens the immune system. It is one of the natural remedies against cancer, because by boosting the immune system, the body can fight better. These are just some of the many benefits of pine needles.

It is highly recommended for anyone and I am looking for it. If I can get it in this forest even better because it is something purely from the land.

The eucalyptus tree and its leaves are also medicinal, but only those with more elongated leaves, and this time I didn't find any. The steam made with these leaves decongests and helps the respiratory system.

As you can see, nature has everything, its effects are slower than traditional medicine, but if you get used to it you can do it all your life.

20240218_161527.jpg

My first exploration of the place, in one sector only, was very pleasant and I had a wonderful afternoon.

I am delighted to share with you bits and pieces of nature. Best regards to all of you and see you next time.

The locals say it's a snake, the second kind you mention, I didn't even see one.... Good thing they're running away...

Even if the viper bites you, you will have time to be taken to the hospital without any after-effects. It's not the South American snakes that are super dangerous. You can die from a viper bite but it takes time.

Pay attention to the very aggressive Asian hornet which is potentially more dangerous due to their numbers in the swarm

This is incredible nature. I can imagine how it used to be before the big cities were built. Beautiful images!

We don't have eucalyptus trees in these parts, so I imagine the smells must be different from the forests of Spain. We have cedars, birches, and hemlock trees among many others that together create a unique forest aroma.

Fascinating, beautiful, sublime, peaceful, some adjectives to qualify this forest although I am short of words 💕

How beautiful to breathe that pine air, I want to teleport there, although there are spiders, I will think twice depending on the size of those spiders hahaha

I know that many medicines are made from pine. But I didn't know that you can make tea. A nice walk, how wonderful you always show us. First the sea and now the forest. You were lucky to find this place and we were lucky to be able to visit it with you.

@avdesing Enjoy your walk, wonderful to enjoy nature. I think the leaning of the trees is also because they are looking for sunlight. beautiful images.

It is true, the inclination is right where the sun rises, it could be that, as they are so close together they need to look for the sun. Thank you very much!😃
