Returning to art - Latents.

Art is always present in everything and it is inevitable for me not to see that beauty in every step I take. The Christmas season is over and the art galleries are renewed, new opportunities to see and display wonders.

While I still have many photographs of walks I have taken during the glittering season, the lights, the Christmas trees and the beautifully decorated streets, I looked through the many folders I have on my computer and the art called out to me.

I usually go to an art show, then organise the photos on my phone into folders with the name of the shows and then move them to my hard drive. Looking here and there I realise that I have many exhibitions that I went to before December but because of the holidays were left dormant and waiting for their time to show off.

La senda, 2025, Emiliano Téllez - Digital colour photography.

This art exhibition was held from 6 November to 5 December at the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País de Málaga, where the entrance is always free of charge. Once a month I stop by to see what's new and it's always wonderful. Their exhibitions catch the eye and in this case it was a very unique and beautiful photography exhibition. ‘Latentes’ is the name they gave it and it is powerful.

I was able to enjoy a lot of variety and style of photography in this show, where each one of them had an interesting detail.

On one of the walls of the place there was a little explanation about the name and the subjects treated and what the latent image refers to: to that which exists but cannot be, therein lies the complexity of the subject, but also its simplicity. It is something in potential, that can be, that can exist and be seen through a revealing fact. This is what brings this latency to light, it manifests itself.

All the photographs belong to students of the Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño de San Telmo. The latent image is interesting and attractive, a different, magical experience.

Quimera, 2025, Claudia María Fernández - Digital colour photography.

The artistic quality of all the photographs was admirable, the poses that the models were in, the quality of the materials used, everything was perfect and it seemed to be suddenly in a fantasy photography session, in others in an ancient time, in others inside a painting of some famous painter and then in other opportunities experimenting with photography on flowers and their movements.

The black and white photographs were spectacular in their contrast and brightness and the ones in colour the separation with the dark background made them very beautiful. Of course if you have a favourite or more than one I would love to hear about it in the comments.

In my case the session of three photos called ‘Vacuum’ I found very interesting, pictures of places at night, maybe because I often take those pictures too, I felt identified.

A spectacular show, with a lot of variety and quality. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you very much for joining me today, I wish you a very good Sunday. See you soon.
Amonet.

All photographs are my own.

I also appreciate photography exhibitions. I recently attended one, and there is so much to observe there: the models, the poses, the materials, and the messages they want to convey. All of this together manages to position art in a grand dimension.

Good morning, dear friend @avdesing

The street decorations in your city are breathtaking, so it's no surprise you have many more photos to share.

It's great that you're organized with your photo archive; it saves you time searching for them when you're ready to post.

I've missed your visits and photos from the museum. What a beautiful photo exhibition; I especially loved the shots by the artist Shinde Saku - Blooming in Death.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Those pictures are great and their meaning! I've been to a lot of exhibitions before the holidays but they stayed in folders, if I organise myself well. I put them by exhibition and then I'll see how to organise myself better. And I have a lot more to go through. Thanks to you!

How are you, Amonet?

It's admirable that the Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Málaga has supported new professionals.

What a beautiful photography exhibition! How wonderful that they've put on an exhibition featuring the work of art school students.

Such beautiful photographs. Thank you so much.

Have a wonderful afternoon.

Good evening @avdesing; I have to say I enjoyed the exhibition. As is normal, I didn't like all the works equally. The ones I liked were Re_cordar by Aida, Garau, and Panta Rhei by África Estrada.

If I'm not mistaken, the photographs are student projects, which makes them even more valuable.

Regarding the reflections in the photographs, although it's clear you sought out the best angles, in my opinion, some of the reflections in other photographs create very interesting images.

Thank you so much for this tour. I like everything you've posted about Christmas lights, and there are still the videos to come, at least, but I was missing an exhibition narrated by you.

I hope you have a great evening.

That mix of reflections... it was unintentional hahaha but it did generate interesting things, the important thing is that I didn't come out hahaha I'm glad you liked it .... I'm working on it with the video of kings, it takes a lot of time editing and photos, writing, etc etc etc etc hahaha thank you very much!!!! Good night!!!🤗👋

Hi!

I’m really glad you’ve returned to art exhibitions, and in this one in particular I see a great deal of exploration. I like it! The catalogue highlights it beautifully… students eager, full of good ideas, and filled with wonder at each new learning.

;) Thank you so much.

I really like seeing these types of exhibitions because they show a deliberate attempt at using photography like an art tool. In this photo the use of light is excellent because its focus on the subjects illuminates their red-hot passion.
