Portraits, expressions, painting and sculpture.
Many times I see works of art in the streets, squares and parks of the city, beautiful works of art especially in the form of sculptures and in large sizes, but I rarely know who the artist is. A few days ago I discovered one of them.
Sometimes I think that, just as the city expands as I walk through it, the number of artists grows exponentially as I visit exhibitions. I love art, but I don't know the thousands of artists in the world, and I love discovering them.
Many of the free exhibitions I can find in galleries or public spaces specially dedicated to them, I see small samples or few works by one artist, however, when, a few days ago, I visited the city's chamber of commerce, where there are often exhibitions, I discovered that several rooms in the same place were dedicated to a single artist.

The exhibition was so large and so rich in quality that it encompassed many works, very varied and all worthy of appreciation. On this visit, and as the exhibition will be on display for two months, I focused only on the portraits and faces, not only in painting but also in sculpture. There were also some works that differed from the rest in terms of materials, but they all belonged to the same author and artist Elena Laverón.
The surprise for me was to find an artist with such excellence in the different art forms, both sculpture and painting. The portraits are one better than the other and the expressions of the faces are significant especially in the paintings.

In the case of the portraits or busts in sculptures of course they have a different style, but I was very pleased to see each of them. I noticed that she is an artist, because she is still alive and over 80 years old, who has explored various techniques and materials for her works, as well as I notice the dedication and love for art.

The sculptures remind me of other artists who have a similar style in terms of the format of the face, elongated with emphasis on the nose, giving the heads a very particular style. All of them are made in bronze, which I loved, a material that practically stands the test of time.
I love admiring them from different angles because one can see the details of their execution and the perfection with which they are made.

As for the faces or portraits made in paintings, these are works done in oil on paper as well as on canvas and burlap, where you can see a lot of colour, expressions, different profiles and the painting on different materials gives them a different finish, which is noticeable to the naked eye. I like the fact that the artist has explored so many materials and adapted them to her own style.

I was also able to see two sketches, especially the one of the woman. They are equally beautiful as preliminary steps to a painting, or that can remain simply drawings.
I liked this work very much, called ‘The Last Supper’ where everything is made of pieces of cloth and the realisation of the faces with cloth was wonderful. It is not an easy thing to do and yet the result is stunning.
As I said at the beginning, there are many works by this artist in the city, in different parts of it and surely in the rest of the exhibition that I will visit soon I will be able to see more of her wonders and recognise many of these works that she has made in giant size to exhibit them in the city. I think it is an honour for the people of Malaga to have her works in the streets, parks and gardens.
Thank you very much for joining me today, I wish you a very good Sunday. See you soon.

Very interesting exhibition. Would have loved to visit.
It is beautiful and I must come back for the bigger part. Thank you very much!!!
Hi @avdesing, again you share a little treasure 🙂 thank you. I really liked the work of this artist that I didn't know, Lavern.
I agree in what the last supper seems to me a magnificent work, but I will tell you that what I liked the most is that woman's face in watercolor or ink, it is sublime.
A hug, and happy Sunday 🤗
That face is beautiful, honestly and there are more works about this spectacular artist, but they are something different, I will bring them soon!!!! Thank you very much!!!🤗
Good evening @avdesing, I'm looking forward to that new installment of this artist. I'm quite curious to know those somewhat different creations.
Best regards.
Sobre todo son esculturas de personas y con un estilo particular, aquí podes ver su página. Buenas noches, estoy muerta... un paseo ultra cansador. Hasta mañana!!
¡Guau!! Gracias por dejarme el enlace. Te deseo un bonito descanso. Hasta mañana!! 👋🤗

How are you, dear friend @avdesing?
What a beautiful place to live! Your city is perfect for all those passionate about art. There are so many exhibitions, and what beautiful works are on display.
Beautiful photographs.
Have a beautiful Sunday!
As the galleries are constantly changing the exhibitions, I go very often and there are many places, I love it, thank you very much!🤗
No doubt you have brought us an excellent proposal. I really liked the paintings where the women's faces stand out.
Although the sculptures are also very interesting. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn about this prolific artist. Have a nice Sunday my friend, enjoy it.🥰❤️❤️
She is a great artist and there are more works about her, I will bring them, thank you for this beautiful comment! Hugs!🤗💗
How are you, Amonet?
It would be great if you could see the artwork of all the artists. I also love the "Seventh Supper" piece. It's hard to believe it was made from scraps of fabric.
Thank you so much for sharing all these beautiful works.
Have a beautiful Sunday.
They are wonderful works and there is another much larger room with impressive sculptures! Thank you!
Thank you very very much @visualshots and @jlinaresp 💗
Hello over here... any walls that can hear me, please.
I really like Elena's work. And that Last Supper is fantastic. But the painting you open your post with, the one on the easel, reminds me of someone... 😃
Here the listening wall... am I a wall? I am everything and I am in everything hahaha
That easel... to me? I haven't had time to paint, nor much encouragement... many things, but I'll be back! If the last work is wonderful and there is more, much more!
Ok, I'll write an ode to the wall, and maybe you'll find a reason to mount the easel. Hahaha... joke.
Well, when interactions are genuine, one becomes a little bit of the other and vice versa. No wonder you can also be wall, flower... and all that you mentioned.
Little by little things are getting better, but the thing is that to paint... I must be very good, because it is reflected in the paint, even in the colours with which I paint.
So I shouldn't write poems when I'm not well? Many times a verse has saved me...
writing is different hahaha tomorrow I'll write a horror story... but painting... it doesn't inspire me, I don't know why...

I like that interpretation of the last supper. It's abstract, but one can still see what it is about.
Exactly and the fact that it is made of fabric is even better! Thank you!
