Architecture, art, caricatures, originality and a galleon.

Walking around the city often takes me to unimagined places and to find amazing things in front of my eyes. Maybe it's that I always pay attention to details or that the city is always ready to surprise me.

The streets are always full of history, of exquisite architecture, of narrow streets that hide very old and enigmatic constructions. The doors, the windows, the balconies speak of a city that has gone through many things, reforms, occupations, different origins, experiences, experiences and above all the churches are proof of this.

Walking around makes me discover a new one every day as if it were multiplying. Like this church that I have not yet visited inside because every time I pass by the place it is closed, but I am intrigued to see inside. I always find something beautiful to see in them, be it decorations, sculptures, art and much more.

Although I couldn't go inside, I discovered a door that was open and contained this sign. I walked through the door to see what else I could see. I always like to explore.

20250408_182918.jpg

The church in its inner fas contained a beautiful inner courtyard with a fountain in the centre, as well as some mosaic figures. That's all I could see, but I loved it.

20250408_190542.jpg

I remembered that on a previous walk there was an art exhibition advertised at a place I had already attended and I headed for the place which was not far from where I was. Also in its construction I always admire the beauty of the architecture and materials in this case I love the columns.

The room was small, but when I entered I saw many works, perhaps because, as they were small, there was room for many of them.

20250408_191109.jpg

The first artist whose work I was able to admire was Marcos Sevilla, and he was mainly dealing with various caricatures. It is a genre of art that I have not explored, but on this occasion I liked the way the works were presented and the meaning.

On the wall at one end there were several paintings all apparently the same. Many of them, one next to the other and all small, about 35 cm each, and the whole was called Re-tuning the year 2024. The artist used in this case acrylic and spray on canvas, wood and aluminium. I really like it when various materials are combined.

All the protagonists of the paintings seemed to be the same, but in different situations. In this case each painting was a different television station.

20250408_191145.jpg

The next work was made in small like a sketch and then in giant size, side by side with crayons, ink, graphite and wood. I liked reading the words they put there, the parts of the figure, the clothes. Interesting.

20250408_191158.jpg

The next one was, by this artist, the one I liked the most because of the way it was made, as it consisted of several canvases of different sizes, superimposed and the work in acrylic. Its size was 100x160 cm, enormous, and the superimposition of the canvases gave it a particular style.

20250408_191212.jpg

The next artist in the room was Emmanuel Lafonti and although his works were small, it was the most magical thing of all, because being so small they consisted of 3D collages, a real marvel, because you had to get close to see the figures that were formed.

20250408_191240.jpg20250408_191317.jpg

Seven beautiful, different, original works with that 3D effect that fascinated me. If you zoom in you will see things inside or shapes, figures that are formed by superimposing the different layers.

Most of them are faces and if you looked at them from different angles the effect was very good. It's the first exhibition I've seen with this kind of work.

20250408_191326.jpg

20250408_191334.jpg

The next and last artist is Alejandro Montiel, of whom there were four works on display, all in oil and some on linen and one on paper.

My favourites were two: the cat and the woman with the bull. The execution of the latter was excellent, the painting was large and the technique very realistic.

It was an excellent exhibition that I was delighted to visit.

And to finish the walk I went to the promenade where I found the Andalusia galleon. I love ships and this one was beautiful. I think that also, as in other opportunities, this ship is a museum ship, where one can pay the visit to go on board, but it does not sail. That would be great.

Night was falling and the ship looked beautiful between the lights themselves and the colour of the clear sky at sunset.

Thank you all very much for joining me on this walk, I send you all a big hello. See you soon.
Amonet.

Hi @avdesing, I liked all the artists, although the one I liked the most is Emmanuel Lafonti. I have seen that the date of the works exhibited is recent, but they have a surrealist air, to years 30 of the sXX, that I loved.

Thank you very much for sharing this walk, a big hug.

History, art, culture, and more. What a great way to spend the day. There's so much wonderful work in these shots that it's hard to pick a favourite. They're all great, but I like the combination of the impressive craftmanship and the small pigeon in the following image. Great catch!

Hi, I really liked the 3D works. They are strange but I guess they talk about thoughts and how ideas come to fragment our lives. I don't know, these are just things that come to my mind... We are not the same person in all situations. And at the same time we are.
Maybe he could be talking about the 3D plane we live in and how we create worlds in our thoughts. Worlds that are then discovered to be true before our eyes. Mmmm... interesting.

The works you prefer are really good, great execution and technique from the artist.

And your pictures are beautiful, I love the last ones, the ones of the galleon. 😊👌🏻😉

Love the photos! The architecture of the church is very simple and elegant, with nice rounded archways. The paintings were are also really cool, I thought the man holding smaller versions of himself was fun, and I was impressed by the detailed facial expressions on both the woman and the bull. The cool old ship is also nice to see, I wonder is it a replica or original? It would be great if could still be taken out to see, that would really be something! Thanks for sharing!
