Macrophotographs of Metal Objects

avatar

Hello my friends, photography lovers.

Today I want to share with you my black and white photographs taken in a locksmith's workshop.

At first I wanted to make them colored, but then I realized that in such a place the color would not only be inappropriate, but on the contrary it would spoil the impression of the photos.

Metal and metal products are very well perceived in monochrome.

I decided to do a photo shoot in macro mode. Then interesting compositions are obtained. At least that's what it seems to me. And whether I am right or wrong is for you to judge, dear friends.

This internal thread on the massive nut reminds me of diamond mines. Only thousands of times smaller.

Drills of various sizes, going into perspective. It turns out a beautiful geometry of the composition. I like the play of light and shadow and the defocusing of the background.

I don't know if you are familiar with such a tool or not. We call it a "die" and it is designed for cutting external threads into pins. The side surfaces of the product are polished to a mirror shine. And the inner surface is very strong and sharp.

It's just a bunch of nails, of course. But this simplicity has its own aesthetic value. It is scattered in a chaotic manner, but this is also some kind of order. These nails create an interesting background.

The next piece of hardware is the key for the electric drill chuck. The drill itself was not nearby. But I liked the shape and geometry of the key.

This composition was composed by me from components unfamiliar to me. I can't even guess what it is. Maybe elements of a lathe chuck? If there are experts in this field among you, friends, then please tell me.

The last object of my exposition is also incomprehensible to me. Perhaps it needs to be hit with a hammer and it makes some kind of indentations on the metal?

There were still a lot of interesting details, but I should have left this workshop by now. I hope that next time I will be able to take more pictures.

Camera: Samsung Galaxy A32.
