Lepat Cassava, Indonesian Traditional Vegan Snack

Hello everyone and Plant Power Community members..
Healthy greetings to all of us..
The kitchen is the most comfortable place for me, so many works are created from that room, even though it is small and cramped, the kitchen can make everyone full, so many uses of the kitchen. In the kitchen, I can make something special, for my beloved family, so I always like the kitchen as a place for my creations.
This morning, I got cassava at the market, this time the market was very busy, full of people who wanted to shop to meet their basic needs, namely FOOD. Many foodstuffs are sold in the market today, even cassava which is usually only available during the harvest season, although it is always there, it is very difficult to get fresh cassava, cassava which is still very moist with soil.
The cassava that I got this time is large, I really like it because it's easy to cut and grate, especially when peeling cassava skin, if it's small then the cassava will take very long to peel, so I like big cassava like this. Likewise, I got very green, clean and fresh banana leaves, I immediately thought of making something simple from these two ingredients.

Incidentally, today my parents-in-law will come to my house, surely they will really like it if there is a lot of food at home, I will also make something special, easy and cheap. Especially my father-in-law, he really likes cassava-based food, he said cassava reminds him of his hometown, Bandar Gula. My husband's grandmother likes to make cassava lepat, one of the foods that is always available on weekends. My husband had time to taste the lepat made by his grandmother, he said it was very tasty, sweet and had its own characteristics because there were elements from the aromatic banana leaves.
Cassava is one of the main ingredients that is always planted next to my husband's grandmother's house, because cassava was very popular with the villagers long ago, so every house would plant cassava. Apart from eating cassava, the leaves can be used as a vegetable to eat with friends, there are so many benefits of cassava.
Well, Plant Power friends, this time I want to share a recipe for lepat cassava wrapped in banana leaves, it will be very interesting and delicious to eat with the family, especially areas that have lots of cassava agricultural products, maybe this recipe will be useful at any time. What an interesting recipe @aswita! Excellent way to cook it, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. I loved it. Thank you for bringing your good content to the vegan community. Greetings.
A lot of food is wrapped in banana leaves, that is typical of Indonesian food. The aroma of banana leaves is very tempting and will be felt on the tongue when eaten. Warm greetings for you :)
Hi there, @aswita. 😃 Your Lepat cassava looks scrumptious. We love cassava in my country too but I did not know it can used to make this snack. It is the banana leaves that brings out it's flavour and sweetness, right?
We have a similar meal in my country using banana leaves but it's beans we use, not cassava. It's called moi moi. 😊😊
Almost the same, but maybe the content is different. In fact, I'm very curious about moi-moi, is it made of beans? what kind of beans?
We use either brown or black-eyed beans. 😊

This food includes traditional food that I like. In my opinion, besides it tastes good, it's also easy to make
I totally agree, besides being easy to cook, it's even very cheap to sell. right isn't it?
