Historical Tourism at the War Remnants Museum

When I talk about Vietnam, what comes to mind is the history of this country, which used to have a very tragic story. Tragedies in the past that like to give me goosebumps are how they were finally free from war and finally became completely independent.

This is what spark me to come to Ho Chi Minh City, because I was interesting in the history of this country, which ultimately allowed me to learn a lot, because in my opinion, life is about how humans want to learn many things. Even though it turn out that this small thing had a big impact, I was willing to save and set aside money every month to come to the country I wanted to go to.

My First Itinerary

Interestingly, the first thing on the itinerary for this trip is to go to the War Remnants Museum. Ho Chi Minh City is a city whose tourist attractions are close to one another. For example, the War Remnants Museum only takes 20 minutes to walk from the Independent Palace. Everything is very closely connected, so that in the end you can explore all the tourist attractions in just one day.

The War Remnants Museum is not a free tourist attraction, but you have to pay an entrance ticket of 40,000vnd and that is very cheap for a large museum like this. That amount of money will not beat the knowledge you get, because you will get a lot of things here.

Historical Heritage

Indeed, this museum is very busy with lots of people, from local residents, students, to foreign tourists. I even got crowded when I entered several rooms because there were so many people. Even so, I am very enthusiastic about accommodating the history that I will learn here.

In the main courtyard of the War Remnants Museum, there are many aircraft and several war vehicles used by America which were very sophisticated at that time. There are several tanks, fighter planes, helicopters and many others. Of course, I left my photo here so that one day I would remember that I had been to this place.

Then I entered several special rooms which were separated based on historical records, and this made me emotional, sad and as if I was raging.

Why?
Because I saw a lot of footage, photos and artifacts left over from the war and that made me directly project the situation of the war at that time. The number of civilians who were killed and became victims who bleed, were injured, and even died was very appalling. My advice as someone who has visited the War Remnants Museum is not to bring children under 10 years old to this place, it will be traumatic to see how sadistically the photos project the conditions during the war.

Not only are there photos of the struggle, there are even special props made to show how things were at that time, such as this small hut which is projected from a photo with 2 small children who were hiding and living in it at that time. This photo really explains how things happened at that time, so it makes the heart touched and touched.

Apart from that, there are many other rooms containing several war weapons capture from America, which were use during the war. There are several weapons such as pistols, rifles, bombs, grenades, bullets and many more. It is also separated based on the function and type of firearm, so it is very complete to know many things about the weapons used.

There are also several photos of war victims who were captured and then displayed on several walls with several testimonies from them. The photos look very historical with good photo quality, so they add artistic value which will easily make anyone who sees them touched.

I think that's all I can explain in detail about this trip. To get an interesting experience from this trip and find out how to get to the War Remnants Museum, look at the existing map, it's quite clear and it's not difficult to get there. The streets of Ho Chi Minh City are really easy to understand, and I hope that those of you who read can also visit Ho Chi Minh, especially the War Remnants Museum, to get a lot of knowledge and interesting stories from another side of this city.

See you the next time hive friends!
