Casona Ibarra
A couple of weekends ago, I attended an artistic event at the Ibarra Manor, that colonial-era building from the old hacienda where the Central University of Venezuela now stands.
Even though I studied at that university, I had never set foot in that house before. I knew of its existence—close to my faculty—as it’s part of the history of the university’s campus in the Ciudad Universitaria, but it had been closed for decades…
The good news is that after the recent restoration of the university’s infrastructure, this historic space has been revived, and its halls and courtyard now regularly host events. So, it was a great opportunity to finally see it.
This time, it was "La Licuadora Alternativa" (The Alternative Blender), that itinerant project that moves around the city, giving a platform to emerging artists. The atmosphere was warm, the proposals varied, and the cool evening weather made for a pleasant experience.
I ran into some friends, so the afternoon flew by with drinks and easy conversation within the walls of this mid-18th-century manor.
A lot of culture and art in that Caracas place!... Nice post, thanks for sharing it with us @astrolabio friend!
