This Is What Eid Really Feels Like

Eid is all about smiling , laughing and being there for each other helping people and especially the poor. This is what is called Eid. Today it is the third day of Eid in my city and I wish you all a very happy Eid.

Because of some being busy I could not make a post about this on the first or second day of Eid. I was a bit busy and had to visit relatives. Now I have some free time so I am thinking to make content about it today and share how my past two days of Eid went.

This is an Islamic festival that is celebrated all over the world. It is not limited only to Muslims but people of many religions also observe this day with respect and honor. In Pakistan it is the third day of Eid but in other countries it may be different as it depends on the moon.

The moon tells us when Eid will happen. Muslims keeps on fasting unit the end of Ramadan and on the last night they go up to their roof tops to look for moon. Everyone waits for this happy moment. If the moon is seen then the next day becomes Eid. If it is not seen then they keep one more fast and wait another day.

This is actually the happiness that comes after 30 days of fasting given to people as a gift. In some places Eid is celebrated for three days but in some countries or cultures it is celebrated for 7 to 10 days.

I live in the city of Quetta in Pakistan and our way of celebrating is a little different from other cities and countries. During our Eid we try to visit relatives and friends for all three days going to each other’s homes expressing happiness giving gifts to children and doing many good deeds.

Especially on the night of the moon Chand Raat we try to find poor and needy people so we can help them. We want that not only the rich take part in this festival but the poor should also have a good share in it and celebrate it with joy and excitement. In my opinion this is the best thing.

On the first day of Eid I spent time outside on the roads and at circuses with my daughters. I tried to dedicate the first day to the children so they could fully enjoy Eid because their favorite place is the playland.

We spent about an hour in playland and during that time I thought that I should visit a relative for Eid greetings. I went to my grandmother’s house for Eid greetings and after about an hour I picked up the children and returned home.

We spent some time there met my grandmother and the children played. We also had some refreshments to eat and after spending some time we returned home. Then it was time for food so we ate and after that I had to go to another relative’s house.

On the second day of Eid many guests came to my house including relatives and friends. I started preparing food and good meals for them.

Today is the third Eid. In the morning I am going to my uncles house and in the evening I will go to another relatives house... Another busy schedule heheh. In short during these three days we keep visiting each others homes sharing the happiness of Eid smiling and laughing, helping the poor and that is the true joy of Eid.
