The Tale Of Karbala : Honoring Imam Hussein's Legacy Across Faiths
Moharam Ul Haram is a sacred month in Islam that is simply the first month of the year according to the Islamic calendar. Quetta is a city in Pakistan where Muslims make up the vast majority of the population. To be clear, there are no different religions in my city, and every faith is free to worship in their own way.
In my city, there is no religious hatred, and all religions coexist. Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and other religions are all free to worship freely, and no religion is persecuted. We are all human, and we all belong to the same family, thus we must all live in peace and love.
Let me give you a brief overview of Moharam Ul Haram and the major incident that occurred this month. This month is the month of the sacrifice of Prophet Mohammad's (SAW) grandson. This is the month in which Yazidis attack Imam Hussein and his companions in the Battle of Karbala on the day of ASHURA.
It is worth noting that Imam Hussein is the religious leader of Muslims, and they have a unique affection for him. Because on the day of Ashura, Yazidis and their companions demonstrate cruelty and halt water for the prophet Mohammad's family. On the 10th of Moharam, they committed all manner of horrors and killed Imam Hussein and his followers.
The story of Karbala and ASHURA teaches us all a valuable lesson. If you're interested, please read the whole story, which you can find on Google. I've only touched on the story, but the details may be found by searching "story of Karbala in the month of Moharam" on Google.
As a result, every year in this month, Muslims and people of other faiths remember this day and pay their respects to Imam Hussian and his family. This month is especially difficult for Shia Muslims, who mourn from the first to the last Moharam. They have a great affection for Islam and Imam Hussein.
The good news is that I've seen other religions honour this day as well. This is the beauty of humanity, where people of different religions get along. Except for those in every religion who strive to create enmity over the world, they respect each other. We must all live in peace and love with one another, and we must all tolerate one another.
Fatimiye Centre, which is located on Alamdar Road in Quetta, is hosting this event. The principal encouraged all members of the centre to decorate the Fatimiya hall in honour of Moharam. I was also invited to this event, and we were told to hang black clothes on the walls, as well as a flag symbolising respect for Imam Hussein.
They chose black cloths and black flags since each hue has its own meaning in Islam. The significance of the dark hue is pain and sorrow, which suggests that individuals in this month are not cheerful and will not plan any happy events. This is the month of protest against brutality and cruelty, as well as an appeal in favour of the impoverished and oppressed.
We were a group of people who decorated the hall with black garments and flags to honour this month. We all work together for around 2 hours to finish the project. I've provided some photos from the day with you, in which you can see volunteers hard at work.
When the work was over, we decided to make green tea. When you are exhausted, green tea is the perfect drink to help you finish your tiredness. Finally, after all work has been accomplished, we have tea and discuss further programmes for this month. This was a truly memorable day, which I captured on my phone camera.
This is my attempt to inform you about the month of Moharam and the significance it has. While my friends are busy decorating the hall, I have also shared some lovely photographs with you. I hope you enjoy the tale and the photos. If you enjoyed the post, please leave a remark so that the next one will be even better. Thank you for sticking with me all the way to the end.
