Last Journey Holiday 2023 "Batu Secret Zoo" Malang Indonesia

Hi pinmapple friends. In this content i will sharing my next destination in Secret Zoo Jatim Park 2 in Malang city Indonesia. Remember in my content about zoo? in here. But, this time i am going to my hometown in Malang city. the exactly is in Batu city near Malang city around 20 minutes if using motorcycle.But, remember this journey continue from this content. So i am still stay in hotel in Batu city so it is not far from my hotel. And this is the last destination in my holiday trip and i am often to this place but never make it as a content. This time i want to share with you guys our experience in Secret Zoo Jatim Park 2.

From my hotel that i am staying in maybe it took around 5-8 minuts with motorcycles. And this place is pretty good compared with the zoo in big city that i lived on right now. The vibe is so different too. Maybe because Batu city is more like tourist city.

Secret Zoo

Basically in here divided to 4 area that is Batu Secret Zoo, Eco Green Park, Rimba Pet Hall, and the last is Museum Satwa.Before we are going to entry in Batu Secret Zoo i will spoil the other 3 places. So, if i make content about this 3 places you can remember this post after read this post.

Eco Green Park basically similar with Batu Secret Zoo but in Eco Green Park dominant with bird and smaller animal with so many interaction with smaller animal like pony horses,rabbits,parrots, and many of other small animals.

Rimba Pet Hall is place that like market but for pet need,animals care, and some small animals like birds,rabbits,frog,etc. And this place sometimes held events that related with animal like aquascaping, feeding animals,owl exhibition,etc.

Museum Satwa is place like museum but this museum is about animals in the real exhibit. Basically it is like the real size diorama about many animals in the worlds. This place is very good to educating kids.

So, after we buying tickets to entering Batu Secret Zoo we still need to queue. This day is holiday so this place is a little bit crowded than usual day.

After 10 minutes waiting the queue line finally we entering the Batu Secret Zoo and the first time we looking Giant Rat Place, Iguana Place,and primate exhibit. Sadly this place is caged and it is very hard to take great picture just using phone.

Giant Rat

This place is like amphibians habitat with have so many tunnel from artificial wood and rock that made from cement and in the bottom of it is artificial river with freshwater. That is pretty good place for Giant Rat that love swimming around in water and love with wet fur in their body. This animals is herbivore that eating some carrot and vegetables in their diet.

Iguana

In the corner of the path is Iguana exhibit, with so many real rocks and artificial rocks in this exhibit for iguana sun bathing. This place is pretty good for Iguana since this place is open air and the sunrays is very bright there, But, for the visitor is hard to see where the Iguana are. They often hide an
sleep since Iguana like to sleep to make they cautius.

Little Primate Area

Next we moving along the path and entering little primate area. There is full of cage in both sided with so many little primate like marmoset.
It is hard to take picture inside the cage but when we looking by our eyes, we can see many primates walk up and down in the branch inside the cage.

Here my wife pointing and telling my son where the monkey inside the cage.

I dont take many picture because this monkey area is just the beginning of the journey in Batu Secret Zoo but overal we enjoying so much in there by looking many little monkey playing around inside the cages. And even there is education poster to give information to our kids.

Bird Cage and Monkey Cage

After that we still continue following the path and then we starting entering the shifting of the cage, Now we entering Bird cage, some of them still combining with monkey cage.

If i am not mistaken this is cage for Bekantan and i forgot the name of the birds. LOLZ

In this place there is just few of bird cage maybe around 2-3 cages only because the birds cage is many placing in Eco Green Park not in Batu Secret Zoo. After in bird cage we continue walking following the path and entering Antlion Exhibit and some of little mamals exhibit.

Antlion & Little Mamals exhibit

After looking the bird cage we entering little mammal exhibit, but before that we looking Antlion exhibit. it is very rare that i can get the picture of Antlion Usually this animals is hiding inside its hideout.

After this exhibit we are going to little mammals exhibit.

There a tunnel that mammals can playing and walking around above us but it is very dangerous because when they poop it will get your head. JUST BE CAREFUL OF THEIR POOP

Medium Size Mammals

After looking small mammals, we continue following the path and entering medium size mammals in the next journey combined with Black Swam Pond. As you can see above there is cage of pygmy Hippo

In the middle of the journey looking medium size mammals, my wife buying some drink in drink and snack stall.

While i am waiting beside the stall and taking some picture of cute monkey in the nice exhibit.

After that we continue to going forward and enjoying again looking some medium mammals in this area.

After enjoying in medium size mammals animal, there is rest place and food and drink stall if visitors feels thirsty or hungry. I am not buying anything since my wife just bought water to drink before and we are still full because before we are going to this place we are eating near hotel that we stay.

Aquarium

After arrived in rest place the path is divided to 2 part, the first one is reptile aquarium and the second is aquarium. But, my wife give oneself the creeps reptile and i dont like to much about reptile so we decided to Aquarium since after finished in reptile area we still need to entering aquarium area.

After entering in Aquarium site we served with freshwater exhibit with so many species of freshwater fish from small fish like tetra until electric eel here.

After looking in freshwater exhibit then we can see many fish species in ocean and saltwater fish and creatures.

I am kinda dissapointed with the maintenance worker in here, i dont know if this place not having budget to hire the aquarist maintenance worker or they just let it go this aquarium place or something else, i am very love with aquarium either freshwater or saltwater. And in this place almost all the aquarium is not maintenance well, they just clean the glass only. Not maintenance the inside of the aquarium, so many algae and the fish is so skinny and not well taken care. Even the shark is still skinny. Also the decorating inside of the aquarium is not even realistic. whereas in Malang city so many great aquascaper there. Why dont this place hire them. After looking this aquarium with a little bit dissapointed we decided to move along the path. and meet the little bridge connection with waterfall inside the building.

After that we entering reptile room that love with water such as a turtle and some snake that lives in swamp.

After entering the mini reptile room we can see so many water turtle here. From Snapping Turtle,Mata - Mata Turtle, And Aligattor Snappng Turtle.

In the other side of the corner we can see the largerst aquarium here with full of big freshwater fish such as big catfish,Arapaima,etc.

The last here we can see King Cobra but in this glass cage the King Cobra just sitting alone with sadness and afraid of many human looking at his.

Medium cat

After out from aquarium center. we are going out and we served with medium cat size like jaguar, cheetah,etc.

Can you spot where the leopard??

Today is very great day that we can see this fearsome cat in this cage, usually many cat like cheetah, leopard,and jaguar wont come out and appear. They always hide in daylight. But this day we can see many cats outside and my son is very exciting looking and observe from the sound of their growl until how they can climb to tree.

Madagascar area

Basically Madagascar Area is the rest area with drinks and snacks stall in the middle and in the right side is exhibit to madagascar animals such as Lemur,Fossa etc. There is need to pay around 1,5$/ person to entering Madagascar exhibit and we can give meal to them but we decided not to. My wife dont want our clothes get dirty with these animals and we dont know the hygiene of these animals, we are afraid if they are contains some virus. So, we just looking from outside. And because in this cage many animals got feed by human,so they feels familiar and not afraid to human.

Savannah

After my son satisfied looking madagascar theme animals and we all are going to peed, and take a rest a little bit while we drinking some water, then we continue to Savannah Area.
This area basically is just one straight path with savannah exhibit on each side. There are many species there like Zebra,Gazelle,Impala,Wildebeest,etc

After walking until the end of the savannah hallway road then we go out and still in Savannah vibe but now on open area
This place once again provide snacks and drink stall. And in Savannah outdoor area, this place surrounding with africa exhibit cage like meerkat, african elephant ,etc.

After looking the surrounding my son wants to see Elephant, but sadly there is no employee in Elephant cage so we cannot giving feed to them and we just see the,this time my son was very sad.

After my son calmed and not mad anymore we continue following the path and not far from that place there are place to take picture together with parrot. And my son wants to try it. I am proud of him brave enough to holding parrot. I remember last year he still afraid to parrot.

Even though he said he not afraid. But, i know deep down he is afraid i can see from his rigid style.

Fantasy Land & Canteen

After done with taking some picture with parrot, we are following the path until we arrived in Fantasy Land. Basically this place is provide so many rides for kids and adult, from roller coaster, carousel, go kart,etc.
In this place my kids starting to feels tired in his feet, so he don't wanna trying many rides here. And some rides are cannot be entered by my son since his height is not acceptable or his age not in the rides terms.

Even here having haunted house attractions, but we are not entering there. I am afraid with place like that so my wife.

Really Fantasy Land is very big i dont get all the picture because the weather starting cloudy and we are afraid that rain is coming so we starting to walking fast and passing the fantasy land as fast as possible. Even in Fantasy Land this place having water park inside,playground for kid and many attractions games in this area.

Riverside Area

As you can see in the picture above the sky starting cloudy and darker. Thats means rain is coming. Sadly we cannot enjoy and relaxed in this area. In this place we can riding the boat to riding around in the river to see some water bird species and some pelican here. And in the middle we can see Orang Utan but due the weather we just see from above and continue walking.

This is the entrace for riverside boat ride, but we need to skip it

In the left side there is Hyena & Jackal exhibit in the down below, we can see the hyena from above. But i cannot see where the Jackal are.

Near Hyena exhibit there is Giraffe Exhibit. And they are so friendly since many visitor always giving eat to them and if we want to give them feed we need to pay around 0,3$/bunch of grass.

After my son satisfied giving feed to Giraffes we continue the journey and just following the path. I dont take picture my son giving feed to Giraffes because i am that carrying my son.

Tiger Land

After that we entering Tiger Land, in this place we can see some of tiger and lion species. Before entering this place the rain starting to pour even it is just drizzling but it can make us wet. Thankfully in Tiger Land there having rooftop so we can take cover and not get to wet.

really i dont know if the cage broken by the claw of this Sumatra Tiger we can be a meal for this tiger.

After done enjoying in Tiger Land that very amusing by looking how the fierce and gallant. we are now in the end of the journey. Usually many visitors will continue to Eco Green Park or Museum Satwa but, this time my son said that he is very tired, and the weather already drizzling. So it is better to ended our vacation and going back home. But overal after enjoying the first place Batu Love Garden and Millenial Glow Garden. We are satisfied enough with this little trip. I am hoping we can going on trip again and shared nice trip content again.
