Round Island Riverside Park is is a beautiful place, it has a lot of trees and it feels like a forest there. It’s a great place to spend your weekend.

We arrived here in the afternoon, it wasn’t our destination yet, but still we wanted to look around and enjoy the views. There wasn’t many people at that time just a fee walkers and a few more people riding canoes.

I was just walking around taking photos of the sun rays in the trees. I really like those lights and shadows that are naturally created in afternoon light.

I think there is more chance to see manatees from canoe, but we didn’t think about it at that time. We just wanted to walk around and get some exercise for our feet.

Kids were anxious to run around and checkout all the manatees. But we could barely see them from far away. Or I should say we we’re guessing that those little tiny things were possibly them:-)

Here is a few things that this park can offer its visitors: a paved parking lot, two boat ramps, canoe launch, picnic pavilion with a grill, and a 400’ boardwalk to observe the manatees, yes it’s known for manatees but unfortunately we didn’t see any near us.

There is also a pretty cool foot bridge to a small island with trails that take you to an observation tower and a fishing pier. South of the park is the Round Island South Conservation Area.
