Un 9 de diciembre del 2022 tomé la decisión de hacer en mi próximo cumpleaños algo que yo de verdad quisiera y me hiciera feliz por lo menos ese día, es por eso que un 9 de diciembre pero del 2023 estaba amaneciendo con la canción Feriado de Rawayana en una habitación de una posada junto a mis dos mejores amigas en Choroní, estado Aragua, Venezuela.
On December 9, 2022 I made the decision to do on my next birthday something that I really wanted and that would make me happy at least that day, that's why on December 9, 2023 I was waking up with the song "Feriado de Rawayana" in a room of an inn with my two best friends in Choroní, Aragua state, Venezuela.
Decisiones que tomar / Decisions to be made
Para ese día sucederían varias cosas, eventos de arte a los que podía asistir y que también iban a involucrar un viaje, mi familia también esperaba ese día para salir todos a un restaurant a celebrar comiendo (y me parecía una buena idea) sin embargo, no me convencían del todo esos planes.
De tanto pensar y pensar en que hacer recordé lo bonito que fue conocer por el mes de septiembre un pueblo costero que me robó el corazón y fue entonces que lo supe, quería pasar mi cumpleaños bañándome en las playas de Choroní.
Entonces un mes antes más o menos les dije a mis amigas lo que quería y ambas se sumaron a esta fiesta viajera.

For that day several things would happen, art events that I could attend and that would also involve a trip, my family was also waiting for that day to all go out to a restaurant to celebrate eating (and it seemed like a good idea) however, I was not entirely convinced by those plans.
Thinking and thinking about what to do, I remembered how nice it was to meet in September a coastal town that stole my heart and it was then that I knew, I wanted to spend my birthday bathing on the beaches of Choroní.
So a month or so before I told my friends what I wanted and they both joined this traveling party.
La fiesta comenzaba / The party began
Nuestro viaje comenzó el día anterior, porque de Barquisimeto a Choroní son por lo menos unas siete horas de carretera, así que no quería el día de mi cumpleaños pasarlo montada en un bus. Lo sabroso de este viaje fue la última hora y media que atravesamos el Parque Nacional Henry Pittier en medio de una neblina con el aire más puro y fresco que nos ofrecía la montaña.
Our trip started the day before, because from Barquisimeto to Choroní is at least a seven-hour drive, so I didn't want to spend my birthday riding a bus. The tasty part of this trip was the last hour and a half that we drove through the Henry Pittier National Park in the middle of a fog with the purest and freshest air the mountain had to offer.
Aquí llegamos a la posada Tucán, una de las más económicas que pudimos contactar antes del viaje y que nos ofrecía lo que andábamos buscando, unas buenas camas, techo y cocina para hacer unas arepas.
Here we arrived at the Tucan Inn, one of the cheapest we could contact before the trip and that offered us what we were looking for, good beds, roof and a kitchen to make arepas.

No tardamos nada en salir a caminar a conocer el puerto para tener esa primera vista del mar y de su gente. También pudimos probar unas hamburguesas de atún que estaban buenísimas.
El pueblo estaba bastante tranquilo, a excepción del mar que tenía olas bastante fuertes, luego nos enteramos que en esta época del año el viento en esta costa se comporta así y por eso es el momento ideal para los surfistas a quienes pudimos ver estos tres días metidos en el agua.

It didn't take us long to go for a walk around the port to get that first view of the sea and its people. We were also able to try some tuna burgers that were delicious.
The town was quite calm, except for the sea that had quite strong waves, then we found out that at this time of the year the wind on this coast behaves like this and that is why it is the ideal time for surfers who we could see these three days in the water.
Como había tenido la oportunidad de venir antes me di la tarea de servir de guía a mis amigas y llevarlas a los rincones que había visitado, como subir hasta el mirador del barco. Aquí también aprovechamos de tomarnos par de fotos con el temporizador.
As I had had the opportunity to come before, I gave myself the task of serving as a guide to my friends and take them to the places I had visited, like going up to the viewpoint of the ship. Here we also took the opportunity to take a couple of pictures with the timer.
Este fue un día bastante tranquilo para llegar acomodarse y recorrer los alrededores del malecón de Puerto Colombia hasta la noche. Este viaje fue en principios de diciembre por lo que las luces navideñas fueron protagonistas de las calles coloniales de Choroní, eso y nos gatitos que nos encontramos en la calle de las luces.
This was a fairly quiet day to get settled in and walk around the boardwalk of Puerto Colombia until the evening. This trip was in early December so the Christmas lights were the protagonists of the colonial streets of Choroni, that and the kittens we found in the street of lights.
Ahora sí, por fin era el día de mi cumpleaños... Pero para no hacer de esto un novelón se los cuento en la próxima publicación.
