Hola hola comunidad viajera, hace un tiempo ya que hice este viaje donde pude disfrutar de un día relajado en dos lugares diferentes. Si eres de Barquisimeto o de zonas cercanas o si en algún momento decides venir a aventurarte en Venezuela esta ruta es un buen plan para conocer dos destinos en un mismo día. ¡Vámonos!
Hello, hello, travel community! A while ago, I took this trip where I was able to enjoy a relaxing day in two different places. If you're from Barquisimeto or the surrounding areas, or if you ever decide to come and explore Venezuela, this route is a great way to see two destinations in one day. Let's go!
Un día, dos destinos
One day, two destinations
Nuestra ruta comenzó con destino al pueblo de Sanare, ubicado en el municipio Andrés Eloy Blanco del estado Lara, Venezuela. Este fue un viaje de esos improvisados, era un día feriado por lo que decidimos no quedarnos en casa y emprender camino para aprovecharlo al máximo.
Our route began with a destination to the town of Sanare, located in the Andrés Eloy Blanco municipality of Lara state, Venezuela. This was one of those impromptu trips. It was a holiday, so we decided not to stay at home and set off to make the most of it.
Sanare es un destino reconocido en todo el estado como "el jardín de Lara" por su belleza, es un municipio donde puedes disfrutar de la montaña con un clima super fresco y con abundantes corrientes de agua y cascadas donde refrescarse, eso sí, el agua de sus ríos es muy fría. Pero también tiene una parte semiárida perfecta para explorarla, sin embargo, esta te la mostrare en una próxima publicación.
Sanare is a destination known throughout the state as “the garden of Lara” for its beauty. It is a municipality where you can enjoy the mountains with a super cool climate and abundant streams and waterfalls where you can cool off, although the water in its rivers is very cold. But it also has a semi-arid area that is perfect for exploring, which I will show you in a future post.
Las calles de Sanare mantienen una arquitectura colonial hermosa que le da este toque mágico al pueblo, la única desventaja de viajar este día para allá es que era miércoles, todo estaba cerrado y solitario. Preguntando nos explicaron que el pueblo tiene más vida los fines de semana, que sus mismos habitantes salen a disfrutar después de una larga jornada de trabajo.
The streets of Sanare maintain beautiful colonial architecture that gives the town a magical touch. The only downside to traveling there on that day was that it was Wednesday, so everything was closed and deserted. When we asked around, we were told that the town is livelier on weekends, when the locals themselves go out to enjoy themselves after a long day of work.

Sanare tiene muchas posadas hermosas y una de ellas se llama El Encanto. Queda a unos 20 minutos del pueblo y allí puedes disfrutar de las mejores vistas. Tiene la particularidad de recibirte con un gran unicornio blanco.
Sanare has many beautiful inns, one of which is called El Encanto. It is located about 20 minutes from the town, and there you can enjoy the best views. It has the unique feature of welcoming you with a large white unicorn.
Algo que me encanta de aquí es la variedad de flores, de colores y aromas que puedes percibir en el aire y aunque no nos íbamos a hospedar en la posada porque andábamos de paso, no podíamos desaprovechar la oportunidad de tomarnos un rico chocolate caliente para seguir con nuestro recorrido.
Something I love about this place is the variety of flowers, colors, and aromas you can smell in the air. Even though we weren't staying at the inn because we were just passing through, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a delicious hot chocolate before continuing on our journey.
Lo siguiente era ir al Tocuyo, el municipio vecino de Sanare. Para esto seguimos la carretera por toda la montaña, aunque honestamente ninguno sabia por donde era, así que lo mejor es guiarse con el mapa y preguntar apenas te encuentres a una persona.
The next stop was Tocuyo, the neighboring municipality of Sanare. To get there, we followed the road through the mountains, although honestly, none of us knew where it was, so it's best to follow the map and ask for directions as soon as you see someone.
Así fue como terminamos llegando a un lugar que se conoce como Represa Dos Cerritos, ubicada en la vía hacia Humocaro (otro lugar hermoso que espero mostrarte más adelante).
That's how we ended up arriving at a place known as Dos Cerritos Dam, located on the road to Humocaro (another beautiful place that I hope to show you later).
Esta represa es la que surte de agua a gran parte del estado y también funciona como parque recreacional. Allí lo que hicimos fue caminar hasta un cerrito para tomar mejores fotografías de la represa.
This dam supplies water to a large part of the state and also serves as a recreational park. There, we walked up a small hill to take better pictures of the dam.
Ahora sí, nos fuimos al Tocuyo, municipio Morán. Por allí estuvimos en la iglesia principal y bueno, todo estaba muy solo al igual que en Sanare.
Now we went to Tocuyo, in the municipality of Morán. We visited the main church there, and well, everything was very quiet, just like in Sanare.
De este lugar no tengo mucho que decir, esta era mi primera vez allí, de todo el estado este es uno de los lugares que menos he explorado. Un punto muy destacado son Las Ruinas de Belén, "fundado el 18 de abril de 1625 y a causa de un devastador terremoto ocurrido el 03 de Agosto de 1950, hoy es conocido como las Ruinas de Belén."

I don't have much to say about this place, as it was my first time there. Of all the places in the state, this is one of the places I have explored the least. One highlight is the Ruins of Belén, “founded on April 18, 1625, and due to a devastating earthquake on August 3, 1950, today it is known as the Ruins of Belén.”
El Tocuyo es conocida como la primera ciudad en el interior de Venezuela por lo que estas ruinas son de la época de la colonia. Y hasta aquí llego nuestro recorrido por estos dos municipios del estado Lara.
Tocuyo is known as the first city in the interior of Venezuela, so these ruins date back to colonial times. And that concludes our tour of these two municipalities in the state of Lara.
A pesar de tener un día gris fue bastante tranquilo. Puedo ser muy feliz solo andando en carretera viendo montañas, respirando aire fresco y haciendo ondas con la mano fuera de la ventana. Además de eso, conocer nuevos lugares siempre será una actividad fascinante. Y bueno, esta fue mi recomendación viajera de hoy, ya sabes, si vienes a Barquisimeto alguna vez este puede ser un buen plan para conocer dos destinos en un mismo día.
Despite it being a gray day, it was quite peaceful. I can be very happy just driving along the highway looking at mountains, breathing fresh air, and waving my hand out the window. On top of that, discovering new places will always be a fascinating activity. And well, that was my travel recommendation for today. You know, if you ever come to Barquisimeto, this could be a good plan for visiting two destinations in one day.
