Proceso de transformación orgánica (ESP/ENG)
Hay momentos en la que mi mente solo está trabajando en ver como cambiar o darles otros usos a ciertos elementos. No siempre esos cambios se ejecutan, de hecho, la mayoría del tiempo se quedan solo en el pensamiento, pero uno de estos días libres donde mi mente divagaba en acciones sin sentido evadiendo las responsabilidades de mi vida, decidí que era hora de hacer ese cambio.
There are times when my mind is focused solely on figuring out how to change certain things or find new uses for them. Those changes don’t always come to fruition—in fact, most of the time they remain just thoughts—but on one of those days off when my mind was wandering through meaningless thoughts, trying to escape the responsibilities of my life, I decided it was time to make that change.
De la tierra, para la tierra.
From the earth, for the earth.
Para empezar quiero presentarte esta pieza que hice en el taller de arcilla al que asisto. Fue para una exposición en honor a la mujer que se hizo el año pasado y desde que termino la expo me la traje a mi casa sin saber dónde ubicarla. Ese es el detalle de hacer un curso de arcilla, uno termina con un montón de piezas que no necesariamente son útiles.
To start with, I’d like to show you this piece I made in the pottery class I take. It was for an exhibition honoring women that took place last year, and ever since the exhibition ended, I’ve had it at home without knowing where to put it. That’s the thing about taking a pottery class—you end up with a bunch of pieces that aren’t necessarily useful.
En el proceso de horneado pasaron cosas y bueno, este fue el resultado de mi mujer con pétalos. Es así, en la arcilla, aunque desees no puedes tener el control absoluto de todo y cualquier mínimo detalle puede cambiar por completo el resultado que esperas.
Some things happened during the firing process, and well, this is what my wife’s piece with petals ended up looking like. That’s just how it is with clay—even if you want to, you can’t have complete control over everything, and even the smallest detail can completely change the result you were expecting.
Ahora, cuando uno es amante de las plantas uno ve macetas en todas partes y después de ver por tanto tiempo allí tirada esta pieza de cerámica sabía que tenía potencial para ser el hogar de una nueva planta.
Now, when you’re a plant lover, you see plant pots everywhere, and after seeing this piece of pottery sitting there for so long, I knew it had the potential to become the home of a new plant.
Para esta transformación comencé abriendo un hueco con un objeto puntiagudo frotado sobre la arcilla, con los minutos este hueco se va haciendo más grande, eso sí, hay que tener paciencia para realizar este proceso.
To begin this transformation, I started by creating a small indentation using a sharp object that I rubbed against the clay; over time, this indentation gradually grows larger—though you do need to be patient to carry out this process.
Confieso que por momentos perdía la paciencia y entraba en mi la desesperación por abrir con rapidez ese hueco, pero bueno, son cosas que forman parte del proceso a la hora de crear algo.
I admit that at times I lost my patience and felt desperate to get that gap open quickly, but hey, those are just part of the process when you’re creating something.

Aunque bueno, en el segundo hueco, el de la boca, si me di la libertad de ser más rustica ya que no necesitaba algo tan perfecto y medido.
Although, to be honest, for the second opening—the one for the mouth—I did allow myself to be a bit more rough-and-ready, since I didn't need it to be so perfect and precise.
Y bueno como el fin de hacer todo este trabajo era sembrar unas suculentas termine pegándole un cartón que me sirviera de base para poder agregar la tierra.
Well, since the whole point of all this work was to plant some succulents, I ended up attaching a piece of cardboard to serve as a base so I could add the soil.
Una vez sembradas las ramitas de este tipo de suculenta la volví a llevar a su lugar en el patio de la casa, a seguir esperando que el sol, el agua y el tiempo hagan de lo suyo y se apropien de esta pieza de cerámica.
Once I had planted the cuttings of this type of succulent, I returned it to its spot on the patio, where I’ll continue to wait for the sun, water, and time to do their work and take root in this ceramic pot.
