Pagar un tour en tu ciudad ¿Vale la pena? (ESP/ENG)
Hola Hola comunidad viajera un gusto saludarles. Hace unos días hice un tour en una zona que esta super cerca a mi ciudad, una zona que ya antes he visitado, sin embargo, recorrer estos espacios con ojos de turista cambia completamente la experiencia ¿están de acuerdo? Por eso hoy quiero compartir este tour que hice para conocer un poco más sobre el Municipio Jiménez, estado Lara, Venezuela ¡Nos fuimos!
Hello, hello, travel community! It's a pleasure to greet you. A few days ago, I took a tour in an area very close to my city, an area I had visited before. However, seeing these places through the eyes of a tourist completely changes the experience. Would you agree? That's why today I want to share this tour I took to learn a little more about the municipality of Jiménez, Lara state, Venezuela. Let's go!

Cada vez que llega el fin de semana me la paso buscando cual será mi próximo plan, aunque confieso también que disfruto mucho quedarme un sábado en mi casa haciendo absolutamente nada más que ver películas o algo sin mucho esfuerzo, también disfruto de hacer todo lo contrario, irme de aventura a vivir al extremo.
Every time the weekend rolls around, I spend my time figuring out what my next plan will be, although I must admit that I also really enjoy staying home on Saturdays doing absolutely nothing but watching movies or something else that doesn't require much effort. I also enjoy doing the complete opposite: going on adventures and living life to the extreme.
Claro, esto tampoco se trata de una aventura extrema, eso lo dejaremos para otro fin de semana. Mas bien, hablamos de un tour guiado para conocer lugares en donde ya he estado y, spoiler a la pregunta, SI VALE LA PENA.
Of course, this isn't an extreme adventure either; we'll leave that for another weekend. Rather, we're talking about a guided tour to visit places I've already been to, and, spoiler alert, YES, IT'S WORTH IT.
Ahora si comenzamos con el tour, el viaje se trataba de conocer varios puntos turísticos del Municipio Jiménez, un municipio vecino a la ciudad donde vivo. Como lo dije antes, son lugares que ya he visitado, pero mi plan era ser turista y disfrutar de toda la guiatura. Así que como razón número uno te digo: Cada experiencia viajera es única por más que conozcamos el destino.
Now, if we start with the tour, the trip was about visiting several tourist attractions in the municipality of Jiménez, a municipality neighboring the city where I live. As I said before, these are places I have already visited, but my plan was to be a tourist and enjoy the whole tour. So, as reason number one, I tell you: Every travel experience is unique, no matter how well we know the destination.
Saliendo desde Barquisimeto nos dirigimos a nuestra primera parada, Tintorero.
Leaving Barquisimeto, we headed to our first stop, Tintorero.
Tintorero es conocido a nivel nacional como un pueblo de artesanos, allí puedes encontrar piezas de tallado en madera, pintura e infinidad de tejidos, también muchas piezas de cerámica. Definitivamente un lugar hermoso y pintoresco aquí hacen unas ferias en el mes de agosto que tuve la oportunidad de visitar el año pasado.
Tintorero is known nationwide as a town of artisans. There you can find wood carvings, paintings, countless textiles, and many ceramic pieces. It is definitely a beautiful and picturesque place. They hold fairs here in August, which I had the opportunity to visit last year.
Aquí nos dieron unos 20 minutos para recorrer el lugar y fue el suficiente, ya que por la hora muchos negocios estaban aun cerrados, quizás eran las 8 o 9 de la mañana. De aquí nos fuimos al segundo punto en Quíbor.
Here we were given about 20 minutes to explore the place, which was enough time, since many businesses were still closed at that hour, perhaps around 8 or 9 in the morning. From here we went to our second stop in Quíbor.
Durante unos 15 minutos estuvimos rodando en el bus mientras la guía muy atenta nos hacía comentarios sobre el lugar que visitaríamos, el Museo Antropológico Francisco Tamayo Yépez de Quíbor.
We rode on the bus for about 15 minutes while the very attentive guide told us about the place we were going to visit, the Francisco Tamayo Yépez Anthropological Museum in Quíbor.
Visitar este museo fue de mis momentos favoritos del día, allí teníamos una guía que se encargó de darnos a detalle toda la información de lo que allí se encontraba. Había huesos de animales prehistóricos, elementos de rituales y de la vida cotidiana de nuestros antepasados por lo que fue una forma muy didáctica de conocer parte de la historia local.
Visiting this museum was one of my favorite moments of the day. We had a guide who gave us detailed information about everything there. There were bones from prehistoric animals, ritual items, and objects from the daily lives of our ancestors, so it was a very educational way to learn about local history.
Entonces otro punto positivo para el tour es que te da la oportunidad del conocimiento. Si bien nosotros con un clic tenemos la información que necesitamos o queremos buscar para mi es muy valioso escuchar a una persona hablarte de eso que estás viendo en el momento.
Another positive aspect of the tour is that it provides you with the opportunity to learn. Although we can find the information we need or want with a single click, I find it very valuable to hear someone talk about what you are seeing at that moment.
Otro lugar que conocimos, aunque originalmente no estaba en la ruta fue la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Altagracia. Y justo ese día en el que viajábamos se estaban celebrando las fiestas patronales por lo que aprovechamos unos minutos para entrar también allí.
Another place we visited, although it wasn't originally on our itinerary, was the church of Nuestra Señora de Altagracia. And on the very day we were traveling, they were celebrating their patron saint's day, so we took a few minutes to go inside.
Muchos feligreses estaban allí celebrando la misa, nosotros nos asomamos un ratico para tomar algunas fotos. Realmente éramos turistas.
Many parishioners were there celebrating Mass, and we popped in for a moment to take some photos. We really were tourists.
Ahora pasamos al punto número cuatro de la lista de lugares turísticos y este es sin duda un icono del estado Lara y más aún del municipio. Conocido como la Tinaja de Quíbor, su nombre realmente es Monumento El Trípode y hace referencia a los yacimientos arqueológicos encontrados en la zona al mismo tiempo que a la parte artesanal de Quíbor.
Now we move on to number four on the list of tourist attractions, which is undoubtedly an icon of Lara state and even more so of the municipality. Known as the Tinaja de Quíbor, its real name is Monumento El Trípode (The Tripod Monument) and refers to the archaeological sites found in the area as well as to the artisanal side of Quíbor.
Ahora, el siguiente lugar a conocer es Las Cárcavas de Quíbor, sin embargo aquí sucede algo, el sol de mediodía nos estaba matando por lo que nadie en el tour estaba dispuesto a ir a explorar la zona, incluyéndome. A pesar de que desde un principio era uno de los puntos que más deseaba volver a ver.
Now, the next place to visit is Las Cárcavas de Quíbor, but something happened here: the midday sun was killing us, so no one on the tour was willing to go explore the area, including me. Even though from the beginning it was one of the places I most wanted to see again.
Entonces un tour también puede ser flexible y va adecuándose a las necesidades del grupo, paso cuando incluyeron a la iglesia y cuando preferimos no exponernos tanto al sol. De todas formas, para que conozcas las cárcavas te dejo allí arriba la fuente de una publicación que hice en 2021 sobre ese lugar.
So a tour can also be flexible and adapt to the needs of the group, which is what happened when they included the church and when we preferred not to expose ourselves to the sun so much. Anyway, so you can learn about the gullies, I'll leave you the link to a post I made in 2021 about that place.
Por fin íbamos al último punto de la ruta donde pasaríamos el resto del día y para ello comenzamos a subir la montaña para llegar a Las lomas de Cubiro.
Finally, we were heading to the last stop on the route, where we would spend the rest of the day, and to do so we began climbing the mountain to reach Las Lomas de Cubiro.
Las lomas son un lugar de esparcimiento que te ofrecen un clima fresco y agradable, paseos a caballo, venta de comida típica, puedes jugar en grupo o solo acostarte un rato en la gramita como lo hicimos nosotros.
The hills are a place for recreation that offer you a cool and pleasant climate, horseback riding, typical food for sale, and you can play in a group or just lie down on the grass for a while, as we did.
Después de comer nuevamente nos fuimos sentar un rato mas sobre la loma y aquí aproveche de sacar mi bitácora viajera para dibujar el paisaje, es algo que he venido haciendo desde el año pasado y ya casi la termino.
After eating, we went back to sit on the hill for a while longer, and I took the opportunity to take out my travel journal to sketch the landscape. It's something I've been doing since last year, and I'm almost finished.
Una actividad extra que hicimos ese día fue pasear en buggy, algo que hasta el momento no conocía, pero uno de mis primos insistía en hacer el paseo, así que lo estuve acompañando, la verdad que fue muy divertido.
An extra activity we did that day was riding in a buggy, something I had never done before, but one of my cousins insisted on doing it, so I went along with him. To be honest, it was a lot of fun.
Así transcurrió todo el tour donde tuvimos variedad de momentos y lugares para compartir. Hacer este tipo de viajes nos da la oportunidad de conocer de forma económica varios lugares a la vez, por este viaje pagamos por persona 12 USD. Sin duda es algo que te recomiendo hacer si tienes la posibilidad porque además en un tour también puedes encontrar buena compañía todo está en la disposición que tengas para dejarte sorprender por cada espacio que visitas.
That's how the whole tour went, with a variety of moments and places to share. Taking this type of trip gives us the opportunity to see several places at once in an economical way. We paid $12 per person for this trip. I definitely recommend doing this if you have the chance, because on a tour you can also find good company. It all depends on your willingness to let yourself be surprised by each place you visit.
Bueno ahora ya te di par de razones por las cuales considero que si vale la pena pagar un tour así sea en lugares que conoces o en tu misma ciudad, a veces es bueno cambiar de perspectiva y ser turistas por un día.
Well, now I've given you a couple of reasons why I think it's worth paying for a tour, even if it's in places you know or in your own city. Sometimes it's good to change your perspective and be a tourist for a day.

😍 Que belleza de post!... Visitaba mucho Duaca, Quibor, Cubiro y otros lugares cercanos cuando era un niño, pues mi padre trabajaba en la estación de Venevisión del Parque Nacional Terepaima (hacia Cabudare y Aguaviva) y cuando nos pasábamos vacaciones allá, Papá nos llevaba ha hacer esos paseos. Me alegra que todo esté bien conservado y me alegra haber visto este post que me trajo gratas memorias!...
