Went for a Walk on a Chilling Spring Day
(as the ice starts to melt here in Canada).
There is something about early spring that always pulls me in.
The air is still cold, but the earth is starting to wake up.
I went for a walk with no real plan except to pay attention.
To get close to things.
To notice the small details we usually pass by.
Frozen leaves locked in melting ice.
Tiny shells spiraling around dry grass.
Puddles reflecting strange little worlds.
Nature making patterns that no human could ever plan.
Getting close like this reminds me how beautiful even the simplest things can be.
It is a practice in slowing down.
In really seeing what is in front of us.
All photos shot by me with my Nikon D40 using my Broken analong 50mm Lens on 1.4f is possible.
Edited lightly in Photoshop to bring out the mood I felt on that walk.
Thank you for letting me share these quiet moments with you.
