Between the Black and the White / Abstract B&W Photography
I don’t always look for what’s there.
I search for what hides inside it.
A shape, a shimmer, a question.
These shots were taken on my old Nikon D40, set to black and white. I prefer it that way, it strips the world down to its breath. The rhythm between dark and light. Between what we know and what we feel. I go manual on my lens so crank it out of focus and back again to find something in the random.
There’s something mystical in this act.
Still life or something from beyond.
Obscure, hard to name, yet loud in its presence.
I don’t chase perfection. I look for the vibration. The soft signal inside the noise. The beauty in the overlooked, the strange, the abstract.
Photography like this isn’t about capturing reality. It’s about freeing it.
