Unpublished photographs of graffiti bombs from a writer friend

Pik is the Aka of my friend Valmore Castillo who, when he was 14, started a crew with a group of friends that they called 4EC Four Element Crew. This drawing notebook is from the Volcom brand, which at the time was sold to graffiti artists so they could develop their artistic ideas.

All these drawings are unpublished and were never published, thanks to my friendship with Valmore I was able to convince him to take some photos of his book and bring this wonderful collection to you on Hive. All graphics are with Pik's signature, which in itself means nothing. At 14 years old, it was not a reference to have a defined identity either. Another interesting aspect is the fact that the graffiti comes from neighborhoods in the United States of America. It is incredible the global reach that this culture has had with its combinations of dance, singing and mural art, expressions that continue to this day throughout the world. I like to see so much talent in a child and the excitement of talking about that time at school.

Valmore told me that a well-known brand of Hip Hop flannels and accessories tried to buy this same book but that people offered him very little money so he gave up and this is how I was able to take these photos. Graffiti with various shapes, some taken to the wall, others only left in this notebook that is released today exclusively for this platform. I really like being able to detail each line and form of composition in a single book. After seeing so much graffiti in my life, I can say that Valmore was already a professional even though he was barely a boy.

Currently Valmore is a Graphic Designer and Plastic Artist and continues to dedicate his life to art. Soon I will show some things he has made such as paintings and even backpacks. He is currently working on a project to make replicas of the Astrojack toy.
