A Red Light Moment

So, there I was, cruising through Hamdan Street, Abu Dhabi, with the kids after our #libraryDay. We went on our way to fetch the husband from his workplace so we can all go home together. And there at the intersection of Hamdan Street and Airport Road, one building stood tall and proud—-the World Trade Center Abu Dhabi (WTCAD).

I took the opportunity to take a snap of the building that captured the reflection of the world around it. In my mind, I was counting where the third floor was. Back in the day, I used to work in this building, and from my desk, one turn and it was like having a VIP pass to the city's show. From that office window, I'd play spectator to the city's daily hustle and bustle. The traffic, the people, the street dramas (including road accidents, wew!) —my little nook was the front-row seat to it all.

At around the winter season, this building almost disappears when the street is covered with fog. Quite magical. And once the morning sun comes out and hits the glass facade, I tell you, it is quite an awe! Winter is coming in a few weeks' time and we will be up to that show once more.

In the meantime, I'll just share this shot, and the joy of "reflections" as memories run through me. It's been years since I last set foot in this building. A lot has changed, a lot of the people I used to work with here have also moved on like me.

The red light changed to a green light. I moved along the traffic just as everybody else did. It was a brief pause in my day, a glimpse into my past, and a reminder of the ever-changing city and life's constant motion. The World Trade Center Abu Dhabi, once a workplace, now stands as a reflection of cherished memories. It's funny how a simple glance at a building can transport you through time, and moving through the road ahead and this continuous life journey, there will be lots more memories to make.
