West Fork Challenge
I went up to West Fork a few days ago and... It unfortunately didn't go so well.
I thought the images looked kind of foggy or blurry when I was looking at the screen, but... Didn't really make sense of it enough to try to fix it.
So... Most of the footage I got is not really usable, if you look at the bottom left of this image you can see how it's a bit foggy and this is one of the few ones that looked okay enough to even share on social media.
I had also taken more THC edibles than I've ever taken before... Four of them, and forgot to bring any food or snacks so about half way up I started to feel sick and had to lay down and then just decided to turn back and get out while I still could.
Then I also ended up getting sick from being out in the cold for too long and I've been sneezing with a runny nose the last few days, and I think I got some poison oak or poison ivy on my leg where I laid down as well, so... It really ended up being a challenging day... :/
Oh, also... I was originally hoping to go up there with a woman I was interested in romantically, but things with her ended a few weeks ago and I had been handling it pretty good until it came time to go up there and then a bunch of memories came back and I felt pretty shitty about that as well...
In the end it's probably better things didn't work out with her as she left me feeling like she barely cares about me at all after I messaged her when I injured myself and told her I was in extreme pain and she just totally ignored me and then got into a relationship with some other guy.
She did similar when I was dying in the hospital almost completely paralyzed from botulism and couldn't even be bothered to send me a text wishing me well or offering prayers or anything like that, but... I just kept giving her more and more chances because I tend to fall hard when I fall for someone and do my best to never give up on them, at some point though after they give up on me too many times I just have to let go and focus on enjoying my own life and not let it bother me too much.
West Fork will always be there for me next year and I don't need that footage for my drone reel as much as I wanted it, or I can just wait and not release the video until next year after I go again. It's definitely not the end of the world and it was still super beautiful to just be there in person and experience it for myself.
Also... I Had one of the best conversations I've ever had with my mom on the way up there though, so it was worth it just for that! She was telling me how she talked to someone and had an epiphany of sorts which led to her being more authentic and happy than perhaps she has ever been and that made me really happy too! :)
Yeah, she doesn't seem like the person for you. Surprising to hear she ignored you when you were in the hospital too. Definitely not the person. Good call on not pressing forward with your walk, or her :)
Thanks for the supportive words buddy. :) Yeah... It was surprising and I was thinking before I posted this that people I barely knew or didn't even know at all and never spoke to before showed me more love than she did when I was dealing with the whole botulism thing and just in general. Including yourself! I remember when I first started posting again you left a nice comment showing me that you cared. I appreciate that and I appreciate you!
Oh, by the way... Not sure if you can help or not, but... I've been wanting to cash out me and my father's old steem tokens, but haven't been able to find any exchanges in the U.S. that support steem or SBD, do you have any ideas about how I could safely go about exchanging those tokens?
Re: Steem tokens, not too sure about that. Since they stole the network and stole a lot of user tokens (including my own) it hasn't been a legitimate blockchain, no US-friendly exchanges will trade it. If any of the exchanges that still trade it don't require KYC, it's possible you could use a foreign VPN to access it. I am not up to date on which exchanges you could do that with though.
I see... Thanks for the info and... Sorry to hear they stole some of your tokens!
I'm not sure if I want to try to deal with any exchanges that aren't U.S. friendly...
I appreciate the info though and will consider it... My account is worth a few thousand and my father's is worth probably around a thousand as well, so... That's pretty frustrating and lame if we're never able to cash out. :/
I asked around and someone suggested using Hive-engine/Steem-engine. I don't know if Steem-engine is still around but they might offer a cross-network token swapping service.
Thank you for asking around! I was wondering if there might be something like that as a possibility. I will look into it more when I have the time. Thank you again! <3
