Walking With a Neighbor

This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108

It wasn't an ordinary walk this morning. The fact is that yesterday, Saturday, it was raining continuously since the morning. It was such a drizzling rain. In the morning, I thought about walking the dog for almost an hour, and yet I went with her to the river. In the afternoon, I met a neighbor and we discussed a walk together on Sunday morning.
Sunday morning was the exact opposite of Saturday morning. The sun was shining outside.

My neighbor and I agreed that I would call him at 7 a.m. I was ready to leave at 6 o'clock, but a agreement is a agreement. At the proper time, I called a neighbor, took the dog and headed to the collection point.

I assumed that our end point of the walk would be exactly this place - the end of the Black Forest. The fact is that last year, in winter and spring, I also walked with my neighbor and we walked in a circle for about 5 km. It turns out that the neighbor decided to check to which place the water rose in the river and our journey turned out to be 9 km because of this.
My neighbor's name is Volodya and he's over 70 years old, but he followed me very well. Of course, I tried to hold back my pace so that he would keep up with me.

The water level in the river has risen by 440 cm. This number was reported in the local news. This is more than the previous 5 years, but less than it used to be. Warm winters do not freeze the soil, and therefore the snow melts into the ground, rather than flowing into rivers in the form of streams. With very high water, we would not be able to walk along the riverbank, because the water would flow over the shore.

That's it, it's finish. There is no further road, there is water ahead.
Volodya thought that we could walk along the forest and return home, completing the circle. He didn't believe me that we would have to go back.

We have common interests with him.: fishing, walking. But Volodya still has a passion - he grafts wild apple trees so that delicious apples grow. He also planted 2 cherries, plums, cedars and oaks in the meadows last fall. I also planted some oaks, and I've already seen acorns on them. In this regard, Volodya and I also have common interests. But Volodya's son does not like hunting and fishing and does not plant trees.

So we set off on our way back. There is still a lot of snow in the forest, considering that it snowed for 3 days this week.
But today was a very warm day and the snow in my garden has almost completely melted, there is very little of it left.
We walked for 2 and a half hours. After the walk, I had breakfast and at 10 o'clock I was already working in my garden. Today I have walked more than 20 thousand steps and there was a lot of physical labor.

Next weekend I have to be in the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow region. The children are waiting for me to visit in their country house.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.
