Alley Of Forged Street Lights

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.

It happens that sometimes we have already written a post about a walk in our head, but in reality, because of this, we forget to do it. Or is it just me?
Back in May, I wanted to tell you about the alley of forged lanterns in Brest, but I forgot to do it.
So, I'm rewinding the film. By the will of fate, in the middle of April, I found myself in Minsk, the capital of the Republic of Belarus. I was unlucky with the weather, I was walking in the sleet.
The grand opening of this alley took place on July 27, 2013.
At the moment, the alley has more than 40 lanterns made of forged metal. It is assumed that other various themed wrought iron products will appear along the entire length of the street.

By the way, lanterns are real, they are not just dummies, so there has long been a ritual of lighting lanterns with a real lamplighter. His task is to light 17 kerosene lamps every evening. But I didn't see it because I was already driving home from Minsk in the evening.

A street lamp with a pointer to Gogol Street. More precisely, these lanterns are located on Gogol Street, and this sign says exactly that.

This lantern contains moments of writing novels by writer Nikolai Gogol - a goose quill in an inkwell and notes for writing.

What Russian doesn't like fast driving? It's such an old meme. The three horses are a symbol of fast riding - the three are dashing...
But I know that the love of fast riding does not depend on nationality.

Homa Brutus is a character from Gogol's work "Viy". The film based on this book was a real horror movie in Soviet times. Over the years, it already looks like a comedy.

I'm going to go to Belarus on an excursion in September. I hope it will be an interesting and fun trip.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

Well. Have all my friends, observers, and readers, wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!
