A Walk To the Uspenskoe Village

Greetings, friends.

This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108

What could be better than a Sunday morning walk? The answer is simple - a walk together with my wife! When was the last time my wife and I had a walk together? It seems to me that this year it has not been yet. My wife usually finds many different arguments not to go for a walk with me in the morning, or rather, with me and our dog, Nora.
This morning, she couldn't find an argument against walking. My daughter was also going to come with us, but she had a strong argument against walking.

It's only been a week since my last walk to the river, and I can see the big changes that have taken place here.
A week ago, fishermen were sitting on the ice, and today I already saw water without ice. And, by the way, we heard the voices of seagulls. So they've already arrived. Yes, spring is developing very rapidly this year.

Our walk has a specific task. My son decided to buy a country house or buy a plot of land and build a house on his own. He saw on a real estate sales website an offer for the sale of a house in a nearby village, upstream of the river. That's why we're going to this village.

Here's another surprise - a bad road. I thought we were going to walk through snow, not mud. I forgot that in Russian villages, there is such a road in the spring. I haven't walked on such roads in spring for a long time. I even thought that there would be asphalt under our feet or a stone road.

I already see one big argument against buying a house in this village - the lack of a good road. How will my granddaughter get to school on such a road? I've been telling my son for six months now that he needs to buy an apartment in the city for permanent residence. Or as one of the options, to buy a plot of land next to my house and build a house there. But my son is against this option. His main argument is that there will be no beautiful view of the river. My son wants a one-story house, but my house has 2 floors, and I have a beautiful view from the window!

My son will definitely like this view of the river. This is an argument in favor of choosing a place. My son is a fisherman like me. And we went fishing together in this place when my son was still in school.

In 1992, my wife and I wanted to buy a house in this place. But then we didn't have enough money at all. And then there were many arguments against the purchase.
So that's how it was supposed to be.

That's another big disadvantage of this place. or even 2 cons. On this street, the houses are very close to each other, and as a result, 2 houses and outbuildings were burned down. And we were impressed by this view and passed by the address we needed.

No, this is not the house we were going to. But after the walk, I looked at the real estate sales ads, and it turned out that this house is for sale, an unfinished house.

Here's the house we need. An old merchant's house. In the 19th century and early 20th century, before the Revolution, this village was rich, and there were quite a lot of similar houses in it.

An interesting house, strong, it will still stand for many years, with proper care, even for a hundred years. But it takes money to make it more beautiful.
I showed my son all the photos, and he calmed down. The main argument against buying a house in this village is the poor road and the distance from the school.

We followed the same route back home. My wife was worried that the Sun had warmed up the snow and the road along the river would no longer be strong, and we would fall through. But we got home okay. Only the shoes had to be washed.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

What a productive and nostalgic #beautifulsunday! It is so rare to get the whole family out for a morning walk, but it sounds like your son's house-hunting was the perfect "argument" to get your wife outdoors. Even if the mud was a challenge, those moments walking together are priceless. All the best with the house hunting.
