A Long Walk

Today was an unusual walk around the city. The most important difference is its duration. Usually the walk lasts for an hour, but today I walked for 2 and a half hours. It happened spontaneously. Initially, I didn't want to walk for so long. Tomorrow morning I was going to go to the eastern outskirts of the city to watch the sunrise. That's why I decided to walk to this place today and see the location so that I wouldn't be disappointed in my intentions tomorrow morning. Still, waking up at 3 a.m. can be difficult if you go to bed at 12 a.m.
When I got to the Philharmonic Hall, I decided that I wanted to show this walk today. The people in this place have put me in a positive mood.

The girl walking in front of me probably thought I was stalking her. When she reached the edge of the building, she gave me a very scary look and turned sharply to the right.

The sun began to sink towards the horizon. The time is approximately 8 p.m.
The monument to Alexander Nevsky is visible in the photo. This historical figure is revered by the Russian Orthodox Church. When Nazi troops attacked the USSR in 1941, Stalin remembered this prince, who in 1242 won a battle with the knights of the Livonian Order. Propaganda elevated Alexander Nevsky to a Great Commander, and an order named after Nevsky was established for Soviet generals and marshals.
But Soviet propaganda carefully concealed the life of this "hero" in the following years. It was Alexander Nevsky who established a strict regime of rule in Kievan Rus under the auspices of the Golden Horde, which historians called the "Mongol Yoke", which lasted for almost 300 years and made the Russian Slavs virtually slaves.

Our local city Eiffel Tower. This is a joke.

This is where I wanted to see the morning sun. But somehow I stopped liking this location. Why?

For more than 10 years, there was a small ski slope at this place. And even the poles of the elevator are still visible. But it seems that they are going to build an apartment building on this place. But in winter, I saw children here who learned to ski downhill. It's a sad story.

I headed home. I'm very thirsty. Before starting my walk, I had the temerity to eat salted mackerel. And now she was reminding me of herself. I didn't go straight home. I decided to head to another location to take a photo. I want to see the sunset.

This is not what I expected to see. It looked better in winter. But maybe I should have waited until dark? But I still have to go home and the distance is about 3 km. And I'm thirsty, I'm very thirsty.
